SBWAN CH13
The military spacecraft landed in a valley in the eastern part of Aquarius X30.
Two lieutenants followed behind Chi Yao as they walked out of the cabin.
These two were proper instructors, responsible for the entire training of the new recruits. One was a round-faced Beta, the other a dark-skinned Alpha. The leading Major General was an advisor, only needing to provide appropriate guidance.
Chi Yao had forgotten their names and casually gave them nicknames—Little Round and Little Black.
“Major General Jing, do you have any instructions?” the round-faced Beta asked.
Guiding the enemy camp in training new recruits—Chi Yao wasn’t that stupid.
“You guys handle it yourselves. I’ll point out anything that’s not up to standard.”
The round-faced Beta and the dark-skinned Alpha said excitedly, “Yes, sir!”
Jing Xi’s combat strength ranked first in the military, and he was handsome, always a legendary figure.
To now receive his personal guidance, they could brag about it for a year when they got back!
The new recruits, arriving in a new environment, were too excited to sleep on the way.
They set up camp and moved military equipment according to the two instructors’ directions, full of anticipation for this training.
“Did you guys see? That officer has gold thread on his cuffs!”
“I saw it when we set off. This Major General is so young!”
The new recruits gossiped in low voices while they worked.
“You don’t even know him? He’s the young master of the great aristocratic Jing family of the capital star. He was promoted to Major General just two years after graduating from military school. He’s practically unrivaled in the military.”
“Perhaps only the leader of Extreme Shadow can be his opponent? They’ve been entangled for several years and still haven’t determined a winner.”
“Holy crap! An expert like that is going to guide our training? We’ve struck gold!”
Chi Yao listened to the two lieutenants report the schedule for the rest of the day, and no matter what they said, his response was “mhm,” “good,” “okay.”
Once the tents were set up, he imitated Jing Xi’s cold tone and said, “I’ll leave the rest to you. I have something to attend to, so I’ll be heading over there first.”
Little Round and Little Black: “Yes, sir! Please attend to your business!”
The military tents were made of nano-metal and special canvas materials. When folded, they were only the size of a medicine bottle, yet they were very sturdy.
Chi Yao had a high rank, so his tent had a bed and a table, unlike the others.
Just as he lifted the door curtain, preparing to catch up on sleep, he suddenly heard a roar from above.
Chi Yao looked up.
This spaceship looked somewhat familiar.
Hearing the noise, Little Round and Little Black rushed over.
Little Black: “Sir, that doesn’t look like a military spacecraft.”
Chi Yao: “…I know.”
He had personally bought it from a black market arms dealer for two hundred million.
Little Round: “How could a civilian spacecraft enter the airspace of an uninhabited area? Could it be a malfunction, making an emergency landing?”
Watching the spaceship slowly descend, Chi Yao narrowed his eyes. “I’d like to know too.”
Why would his spaceship appear in the airspace of a low-level mineral star?
The answer to that probably had to be asked of Jing Xi, who was sitting right there.
As they were preparing to land, Jing Xi saw the warship on the monitoring screen.
“Fuck! There are military people here!” Li Yuan said hurriedly. “Boss, let’s change locations.”
Jing Xi: “No need. Right here is fine.”
Fang Liang and Li Yuan looked at each other.
So this was what the so-called intensive training was about?
They thought it was closed-door physical training, but it turned out to be a fight with the military?
The spaceship landed. Jing Xi walked down the cabin to inspect the surrounding environmental conditions and waved for Fang Liang to arrange for setting up camp.
Li Yuan rolled up his sleeves halfway. “Aren’t we going to start fighting right away?”
Jing Xi: “Do what?”
Li Yuan: “? Fight.”
Jing Xi: “Set up camp.”
Li Yuan: “…”
It was an order from the boss, so they could only obey.
A few people led the others back to the spaceship to get the camping equipment.
Jing Xi looked towards the warship and started walking over.
“He’s coming over!”
The round-faced instructor’s hands trembled with fear.
He didn’t expect it to be not some civilian spacecraft, but Extreme Shadow! What kind of luck was this!
The dark-skinned instructor was so nervous he swallowed hard.
“Sir, I think we should retreat first, report this situation to headquarters, and let them handle it.”
Let alone a group of new recruits, even ten-year veterans would tremble at the sight of Extreme Shadow.
The commotion here quickly caught the attention of the new recruits.
They stopped what they were doing and looked over warily.
“Did the instructor say that’s an Extreme Shadow spaceship?”
“Don’t they not rob low-level mines? Could they have seen it wrong?”
“The spaceship might be mistaken, but did you see that person? That’s the leader of Extreme Shadow, Chi Yao!”
“Holy crap! He came in person? Could he be here for Major General Jing?”
Panic spread among the new recruits. The two instructors themselves were panicking and had no time to worry about whether the recruits were scared or not.
Chi Yao smiled. “No need. You stay here and continue setting up camp.”
The round-faced instructor: “But we don’t know what they’re here for. We should still notify headquarters—”
Chi Yao turned his head to look at him, his smile fading. “Are you listening to me, or am I listening to you?”
The round-faced instructor’s pupils shrank, and he quickly lowered his head. “I will follow the officer’s arrangements.”
After he left, the round-faced instructor patted his chest with lingering fear.
In that instant just now, Major General Jing felt so terrifying!
Chi Yao stood in front of Jing Xi, suppressing his voice and smiling, “I didn’t realize the Major General was so clingy.”
Jing Xi: “I was afraid you’d be lonely by yourself, so I brought them to the military headquarters to accompany you.”
Chi Yao: “We had an agreement.”
Jing Xi: “What reason does a star pirate have to abide by an agreement?”
Chi Yao: “…”
He had learned to use his own words against him.
As they were talking, his peripheral vision caught a group of people getting off the spaceship. He subconsciously looked over, and his expression changed slightly.
“What did you do to them?”
The people who came down were all sporting buzz cuts. He almost didn’t recognize them.
“Helping you discipline your subordinates.” Seeing his frown deepen, Jing Xi continued to provoke him, “Don’t you think this is much more pleasing to the eye?”
A perfectly good star pirate crew turned into a convict camp. Pleasing to the eye?
Chi Yao’s smile turned cold. “Then I should thank you?”
Jing Xi: “You’re welcome. It’s what I should do.”
Chi Yao frowned. He didn’t think Jing Xi could have followed him so quickly. He tested him, “Extreme Shadow doesn’t take jobs in danger zones below level three. Don’t you dare ruin my reputation.”
Jing Xi turned his head to look at the group setting up camp. “This time, we’re here for intensive training.”
Chi Yao: “Intensive training?”
Jing Xi looked at him, his eyes teasing. “Since the rightful owner isn’t doing his job, I can only discipline them on his behalf, striving to help them leave the star pirate circle as soon as possible and become ordinary people again.”
Is this an attempt to dismantle Extreme Shadow from within?
Chi Yao was both angry and amused.
“Then I’ll wait and see.”
Li Yuan, Chen Sheng, and the others set up camp absent-mindedly, glancing towards their boss from time to time.
Seeing that the person who came over was Jing Xi, they cursed their ill fate in their hearts.
“What’s with these two? How do they run into each other everywhere they go?” Chen Sheng muttered in a low voice.
Li Yuan: “No wonder we have to set up camp.”
On the new recruit side, over a hundred people watched eagerly as their officer went over to negotiate, and then watched him return as if nothing had happened.
The dark-skinned instructor: “Sir, how was it?!”
Chi Yao: “Why are you so nervous? They haven’t broken any laws.”
The dark-skinned instructor: “…”
By the time they do, it’ll be too late.
Chi Yao: “The star pirate crew is having a team-building event. Just let them be.”
Everyone: “…”
Team-building?!
In the evening, after setting up camp, Jing Xi called everyone over for a meeting.
Jing Xi: “The purpose of this intensive training is to help you establish a correct sense of teamwork and values. First, you need to be clear about your goal.”
Li Yuan glared fiercely in the direction of the new recruit group and raised his hand. “The goal is the legion over there. Rob them of all their resources.”
“That warship is not bad.”
“Rob their military equipment!”
“Rob their people!”
Jing Xi: “…”
In the new recruit group, Chi Yao sat in front of his tent, propping up his chin and observing the movements over there.
A few hundred meters away, Jing Xi suddenly shouted loudly, “What is your goal?”
The star pirate crew roared, “Work hard to reform, and become a new person!”
Jing Xi: “That’s too quiet.”
Everyone in the star pirate crew held their breath and roared even louder, “Work hard to reform, and become a new person!”
Chi Yao: “…”
Fuck.
He shot up and walked towards the new recruit assembly point.
The two instructors were introducing the potential dangers and solutions of the training to the new recruits.
They were startled by the sudden roar from the star pirate crew’s side.
After hearing the content of the roar, they looked at each other, gritting their teeth to hold back their laughter.
Extreme Shadow’s team-building event was really bizarre.
The round-faced instructor couldn’t help but laugh out loud himself. When he saw Jing Xi approaching in his peripheral vision, he pressed his lips together, trying hard to suppress his laughter.
“Sir, do you have any instructions?”
Chi Yao’s gaze swept over everyone, his face dark.
A moment later, the sparse voices of the new recruit group echoed in the valley.
“Care for star pirates, everyone has a responsibility.”
Chi Yao said sternly, “Didn’t you eat enough for dinner? You have less spirit than the star pirate crew. Do it again!”
Chi Yao: “What is your goal—?”
The new recruits’ faces were red. They had just called the star pirate crew bizarre, and now it was their turn so quickly.
Seeing Jing Xi’s terrifying face, they craned their necks and roared, “Care for star pirates, everyone has a responsibility!”
“Very good.” Chi Yao made eye contact with Jing Xi from across the distance and smiled. “I hope you can all do it.”
Jing Xi: “…”
Shameless.
After a busy day of work, Pei Zhenyue opened the internal system to check on the new recruit training—the training would be live-streamed and could be viewed at any time within the system.
Just as he switched to Jing Xi’s group, he heard the new recruits’ absurd slogan.
Pei Zhenyue’s vision went black. “…”
He really is a troublemaker!
