That evening at dinner, Rong Xu didn’t tell Clemens whether Lin Xuan had a boyfriend. In fact, he was puzzled why Clemens directly asked if Lin Xuan had a boyfriend, instead of asking if he had a girlfriend.

When they returned to the hotel to rest, Rong Xu told Qin Cheng about it. Qin Cheng, usually uninterested in others’ affairs and only wanting to talk with his beloved, took on a meaningful tone after hearing that “Clemens might be interested in Lin Xuan,” saying, “Clemens Holt wants to pursue Lin Xuan?”

Rong Xu thought for a moment: “Perhaps he has that idea? I don’t know, he just asked me that question.”

Qin Cheng chuckled meaningfully, not pursuing the topic further.

In fact, Americans’ practical abilities in certain areas are truly evident.

What happened next had nothing to do with Rong Xu; he didn’t even know that, starting the next day, his friend was being intensely pursued by a major Hollywood director.

As a singer, Lin Xuan held concerts every year, and for the past two years, his main focus had been his global tour. The Wellington leg of this tour was actually scheduled for next week, but Lin Xuan liked to prepare for the concert venue in advance. So, three days before the concert, he set off for the venue.

In the dimly lit hotel parking lot, the black-haired Chinese singer was on the phone with his assistant, confirming concert preparations, when he suddenly heard a loud honk from behind him.

Lin Xuan, still holding the phone, turned in surprise to see a fiery red supercar parked in a corner, its high beams on, shining directly at him. The dazzling light made it impossible for him to open his eyes. Lin Xuan, utterly bewildered, raised a hand to shield his eyes. A male voice came from behind the car: “You seem to be Rong Xu’s friend?”

At first, upon hearing the voice, Lin Xuan didn’t recognize who it was. But Clemens quickly drove forward, executing a beautiful drift that brought the car smoothly beside him, calmly saying, “What a coincidence, are you going out? I’ll give you a ride.”

That handsome, chiseled face suddenly appeared before Lin Xuan. His golden hair glowed brightly under the lights.

Lin Xuan’s eyes widened, staring fixedly at this man who shouldn’t have been there. The latter looked up at him and smiled slightly: “Lin Xuan, getting in? For Rong’s sake, I don’t mind giving you a ride.”

Lin Xuan: “…”

The proud Hollywood director’s offer was met with the Chinese pop king’s merciless back.

Although Lin Xuan wasn’t rich enough to own a car in Wellington, the concert organizers had already arranged a dedicated car and driver for him. So, a certain haughty blond director could only widen his eyes and watch his target get into a car, step on the gas, and speed away.

Clemens, covered in dust: “…”

This less-than-ideal start did not dampen Clemens’s enthusiasm.

Two days later, Rong Xu heard a shocking piece of news from Sr. Holt: “Rong, you simply won’t believe it, that damn son of mine—well, he’s not entirely damned, but he’s certainly a jerk—that’s Clemens, he actually seems to be pursuing your Chinese friend. I heard from his assistant that Clemens gave your friend ninety-nine roses and invited him to the best restaurants in Wellington several times, but your friend rejected all of them. This is truly amazing!”

Rong Xu, too surprised to understand what he was saying: “…Huh?”

Sr. Holt explained further: “Clemens’s mother and I had suspected before that he seems to genuinely prefer East Asians. That’s why, Rong, two years ago when we were filming The Zeroth Law, I had this idea of setting you and Clemens up. Sorry, I didn’t know about your relationship with Qin then, but his mother and I thought, since he likes East Asians, and you’re such a good child, it would be even better if you could be our child.”

Bringing this up made Rong Xu feel a bit awkward, but he was more concerned with: “Lance, Clemens actually went after Lin Xuan?”

“Yes, he really seems to be named Lin Xuan!” Sr. Holt said happily, “Rong, I hope you’ll help me convey a message to your friend.”

Rong Xu: “What message?”

Sr. Holt’s face darkened, and he said seriously: “Please tell your friend to thoroughly humiliate my son… Oh no, I mean, give that scoundrel a hard time. Believe me, when he first started pursuing your friend, he definitely thought your friend would fall for him.”

Rong Xu: “…”

As the old Chinese saying goes, “No one knows a son better than his father.”

Indeed, when Clemens first started pursuing Lin Xuan, he harbored the thought, “He’ll definitely like me, and we’ll soon be in a relationship.” But what followed was a cruel reality that slapped Clemens hard in the face.

Inviting him to dinner, reserving the best restaurant at great expense, the other person looked at him coldly and calmly replied, “Mr. Holt, I don’t think we’re that close yet.”

He endured the financial pain, air-freighting ninety-nine expensive blue roses from Japan to the other party, but the adorable Chinese singer didn’t even glance at them: “I’m allergic to pollen.”

Clemens: “…”

Celebrities in Hollywood rarely formally pursue others. After all, they aren’t naive teenagers; if there’s genuine interest, it’s easy to flirt and naturally connect. But when it comes to truly pursuing someone, celebrities are no different from ordinary people, usually involving flowers, gifts, and candlelight dinners.

In the past, these things had nothing to do with Clemens. He wasn’t a playboy like James; countless actresses in Hollywood wanted to get into his bed, but he himself had never been interested in women. As for male celebrities who tried to get ahead through him, Clemens found them revolting: he liked slender, cute East Asians! Not muscular men!

This was his first time pursuing someone, and he encountered such a stubborn obstacle. Clemens returned in defeat. Before the other party left Wellington, he rushed to the Bedivere set overnight and found Rong Xu.

Rong Xu’s mouth twitched: “The Lin Xuan you’re talking about, is it really the one I know?”

Cold-hearted, unyielding, a person who could give Clemens Holt such a headache… could it really be Lin Xuan?!

Clemens’s expression changed slightly, but after a moment of hesitation, he nodded, admitting the fact that he had been harshly rejected by this Chinese pop king.

Rong Xu: “…This world is a bit fantastical. I can’t imagine the Lin Xuan you’re describing, so Cris, I can’t give you advice. But I think if he truly rejected you so directly and completely, then perhaps he genuinely doesn’t like you at all.” He might even dislike you quite a bit.

Rong Xu didn’t say the latter part; after all, he had to save some face for the arrogant director.

However, Clemens’s face changed drastically upon hearing this. He pursed his lips, thought for a moment, and then turned and left the set.

Lin Xuan’s Wellington leg of his global tour concluded in a lively, celebratory atmosphere. No one expected that the next day, the headlines of major newspapers worldwide wouldn’t be about the massive singalongs at the concert or Lin Xuan’s newly released song, but about the blond director sitting front and center in the audience.

Clemens Holt Appears at Chinese Singer’s Concert, New Film Related to Music?

Lin Xuan’s “For Dream” Concert in Wellington, Loyal Audience Member is Hollywood Director Clemens Holt!

Overwhelming news reports flooded in like snowflakes. All of a sudden, Lin Xuan and Clemens Holt, these two names, became the hot topic of discussion among global music and film fans. Film fans were curious if Clemens intended to film a movie related to a Chinese singer. Music fans wanted to know when Clemens started liking Chinese songs, especially those of their Er Mu.

These two names, for the first time linked together, attracted countless fans’ attention.

On the flight from Wellington to China, Lin Xuan looked at the magazine report, his face extremely grim. As soon as he got off the plane, he immediately messaged his friend:

【What the hell does Clemens Holt want? Rong Rong, can you help me get rid of him? Is he sick?! Why does he keep bothering me? Are we close?!】

Five minutes later, Rong Xu replied:

 【…I thought you knew, he’s pursuing you?】

Looking at the shimmering word “pursuing” on his phone screen, the Chinese pop king slowly clenched his teeth, complex emotions surfacing in his clear eyes. Thirty minutes later, he typed a forceful reply:

【He’s sick. I can never be with him in this lifetime.】

Soon, Rong Xu sent six ellipses, then added:

【Are you really gay?】

Lin Xuan: “…”

Lin Xuan is gay?

This piece of gossip, even if sold to marketing accounts, would absolutely be rejected.

It was widely known that this pop king changed girlfriends every few months. His taste truly worried his fans; for the first two years, fans would genuinely feel sad and heartbroken, hoping their Er Mu would be more careful, even if dating, and not to be with those young models and internet celebrities.

But gradually, as Lin Xuan’s relationships with girlfriends never lasted more than three months, fans got used to it and even started betting:

【How long do you think this internet celebrity will last? I think a month and a half at most.】

Lin Xuan’s current rumored girlfriend was a young model who had graced the cover of a supplement to a top-tier magazine. The model had an internet-famous face, standard European double eyelids, a sharp, pointed chin, and unnaturally full apple cheeks; she clearly looked like she had undergone plastic surgery. However, before Lin Xuan went to Wellington for his concert, a gossip newspaper published photos of them dating at dinner.

Fans were no longer concerned, merely counting on their fingers how many days the two had been dating. But Clemens, who had specifically followed Lin Xuan to China, never expected that as he walked into the restaurant with roses, he would see a strangely-faced girl sitting beside Lin Xuan, constantly rubbing her chest against his arm, almost falling onto him.

Clemens: “!!!”

Young Model: “A-Xuan, did you bring me any gifts from New Zealand? I missed you so much after a week. I heard the building above this restaurant is a five-star hotel, they have many rooms…”

“Miss, to openly discuss booking a room in public, I thought that as a foreigner, I only spoke Chinese but didn’t understand true Chinese etiquette. Unexpectedly, perhaps you understand less than I do about reserved and modest Chinese civilization? Finally, a friendly reminder, the hyaluronic acid in your cheeks is almost gone.”

An arrogant and indifferent voice suddenly came from behind, mercilessly mocking a young girl. The person speaking sarcastically was never a good person; he was stingy and arrogant, completely disregarding so-called gentlemanly conduct, and showed no respect for a woman in public.

Upon hearing this voice, Lin Xuan suddenly stiffened, slowly turning his head. The young model, however, had already glared and cursed, “Who the hell are you?! What my boyfriend and I say is none of your business, you… Ah! Are you Clemens Holt?”

Clemens pulled the model, whose chest was almost pressed against Lin Xuan, away and sat down himself. The young model widened her gray contact-lensed eyes, staring incredulously at this ungentlemanly and utterly inexplicable Hollywood director, who then said, “Lin and I have something to discuss, Miss, do you mind leaving?”

It was phrased as a question, but his handsome face was filled with disdain.

“You!” The young model was so angry she wanted to curse.

Who cares if you’re a big Hollywood director, who cares how many awards you’ve won, or how many blockbuster movies you have. She was having dinner with her boyfriend and wanted to book a room with him; what business was that of yours?

But looking at Clemens’s arrogant face, the young model could only swallow her anger. She turned to her boyfriend, seemingly seeking support from Lin Xuan: “A- Xuan…”

Then, the next second, even she didn’t expect that Lin Xuan would stand up, put an arm around her waist, and look down at Director Holt with a half-smile: “Mr. Holt, are you sick? What business is it of yours if my girlfriend and I book a room? Are you the Pacific police, poking your nose into everything?”

Under the tablecloth, his fingers gripped slightly tighter. On the surface, the blond director curved his lips, revealing an elegant, aristocratic smile: “Are you sure she’s your girlfriend?”

The overjoyed young model snapped back to reality and quickly said loudly, “Of course I’m A-Xuan’s girlfriend.”

“Has he held your hand?”

The young model nodded: “Of course!”

Clemens raised an eyebrow: “Has he kissed you?”

The young model suddenly went blank. She secretly glanced at Lin Xuan, but saw that her usually cheerful and easily-deceived boyfriend was now stony-faced, staring expressionlessly at Clemens.

Clemens suddenly laughed: “You want to book a room with him, but has he really had s3x with you?”

“Clemens Holt!” Lin Xuan suddenly shouted loudly.

His shout was extremely loud, and everyone else in the restaurant looked over in surprise. However, because the tables were too far apart, those customers just glanced a few more times, heard nothing, and then turned back.

Clemens didn’t even glance at the pale-faced young model. His dark gaze lingered on Lin Xuan’s hand that was around her waist, and he let out a low chuckle: “You’re clearly gay; you don’t like women, so how could you have s3x with her?”

Lin Xuan clenched his fingers, and the young model froze.

The aftermath of the restaurant incident was that Lin Xuan broke up with the young model a week early, giving her some emotional compensation. The model cried and furiously accused Lin Xuan of deceiving her feelings since he was gay, until she received Lin Xuan’s compensation, then she burst into tears and left the restaurant without hesitation.

This time, his relationship with a girlfriend lasted only half a month before they broke up directly. Lin Xuan, his face cold, strode towards the parking lot. But behind him, the shameless blond director followed. The moment he entered his car, the director opened the door on the other side and quickly got in.

Lin Xuan slammed the steering wheel in frustration and fumed, “Are you sick?!”

Clemens leaned back in the seat, curving his thin, cold lips: “What do you see in those young models?”

Lin Xuan ignored him: “This is my car, Mr. Holt, please get out now!”

“You’re interested in them because you know they can’t truly like you. Even if someone genuinely liked you, as long as you’re willing to pay a breakup fee, they’d happily break up and never bother you.”

Clemens raised his clear blue eyes, speaking sarcastically, “Your girlfriend today, only seventeen, already thinking about booking a room with you. She’s been with three sugar daddies before, do you know who her last one was?”

Lin Xuan’s eyes turned red with anger: “Clemens Holt! Get out!”

However, the subject of his anger slowly dropped his smile and said coldly:

“Her last sugar daddy was a third-tier Hollywood director. He had STDs and often hosted promiscuous parties. Your girlfriend participated in those parties. Otherwise, do you think she would have any right to be on the cover of a top-tier magazine’s supplement? Lin Xuan, when you touched her waist, didn’t you feel disgusted?”

Even Clemens himself didn’t realize that when he said this, he carried a subtle sense of superiority.

It was a condescending, almost charitable superiority, the kind only possessed by someone who had been a favored child of heaven since childhood, looking down on others and speaking in a high and disdainful tone about something he considered despicable.

Lin Xuan’s lips trembled, unable to utter a word.

Seeing this, Clemens actually relaxed:

“Don’t associate with those young models anymore. Even if you don’t like me and don’t want to be with me, there’s no need to associate with people like that.”

Lin Xuan no longer urged the man out of the car. He silently turned the key, preparing to drive. But just then, he heard Clemens casually say:

“Seventeen years old and already knowing how to climb into a director’s bed, only wanting to exchange her body for profit. Such a disgusting person, too dirty; she doesn’t qualify to be your girlfriend, not even for fun.”

The action of turning the key suddenly stopped. In the dim car cabin, Lin Xuan slowly turned his head to look at the uninvited blond director.

He slowly raised the corners of his lips, his dark eyes reflecting the dazzling neon lights outside the window. His gaze was fixed on Clemens, causing the latter to gradually tense up, and he actually discerned a hint of alluring charm from that innocent, baby-faced expression.

Clemens involuntarily swallowed, realizing for the first time that his liking for this Chinese singer seemed to be more than he had imagined.

Then, he heard the other party, his voice hoarse and sexy, chuckle and say: “Then, Mr. Holt, why are you pursuing me?”

Clemens answered without hesitation: “I like you very much.” After thinking for a moment, he added, “It’s hard to explain, but from the first moment I saw you, I felt a strong connection.”

“First moment?”

“Yes, to be honest, in terms of looks, you’re a bit less refined than Rong Xu; he’s too delicate and beautiful. But Lin Xuan,” Clemens’s deep blue eyes gazed earnestly and seriously at the black-haired young man, saying word by word, “When you stand with Rong Xu, I think you’re more beautiful than him. The first time I saw you in New Zealand, I thought, you might be the person I’m looking for—ooh…”

His tie was grabbed, pulling him forward. Clemens’s eyes widened suddenly, feeling the scorching warmth on his lips.

The kiss ended quickly. The kisser seemed to be unskilled; despite having so many rumored girlfriends, he still heavily bumped Clemens’s teeth when kissing him. However, Clemens had no time to ponder the other’s clumsy kissing technique. He only heard a husky, sexy voice next to his ear: “You’re right, I’m gay… So Clemens Holt, do you want to have s3x with me?”
