The Abandoned Male Wife

Description:

A young master, full of himself and self-proclaimed noble, returns to China after ten years abroad when called home by his father’s critical illness.

Upon disembarking, he discovers he has been placed in an arranged marriage. Proud and refusing to bow down as a champion of free love, he vows never to yield—until his wedding night, when he first sets eyes on his bride: a slender-waisted, delicate-featured youth in a long gown.

Raised under traditional values, this “wife” is like a lotus blooming from the mud.

The wife says, “Young Master, spend just one night with me to comfort Father and wish him longevity. After tonight, you may stay or leave as you please.”

After completing the nuptials, the young master departs by boat the next morning, heading north to Beijing to carve out his career.

Five months later, as his business with a classmate flourishes, they prepare to partner with a powerful mogul from the North.

Stepping past the folding screen into a room warmed by a cozy charcoal brazier, his classmate whispers: “This boss is insanely capable. He holds countless ferry routes and ports in the palm of his hand.”

The renowned mogul, lavishly wrapped in plush fox fur and holding a warm brass hand-warmer, sits lazily in a rocking chair, looking as ethereal as a snow fairy.

As he rises, his heavy, rounded belly makes his movements clumsy. Supporting his lower back with one hand, he smiles softly with curved eyes and says gently, “Pardon my clumsiness.”

It was the very wife he had married back home.
