CFFIL CH50
Seth received a call from his father, Willow, strictly ordering him to come home immediately after school tonight and not to “mess around” anymore. Probably knowing that Seth wouldn’t listen obediently, Willow added another sentence, “You know, shutting down that underground boxing ring is just a matter of a word from me. I can turn a blind eye, but I have my limits.”
Seth’s eyes were cold, and he clenched his phone. “Are you threatening me?”
Willow’s tone was flat. “Understand it however you want.”
After hanging up, Seth’s face was still ugly, but he couldn’t ignore his father’s threat. In the end, he could only call the manager of the underground boxing ring and tell him to cancel tonight’s match.
After school, the family’s driver came to pick him up.
Ralph had been their driver for nearly ten years and had practically watched Seth grow up. Seeing his foul face, he tried to persuade him, “Sir said there’s a guest at home today, so you must go back.”
Seth twitched the corner of his mouth.
A guest, huh.
He wanted to see just what kind of honored guest it was!
The car drove into the manor, and the butler was already waiting at the door. He opened the car door for him, his face wearing an unchanging smile. “Good evening, Young Master.”
Seth walked in with a blank face, carrying his schoolbag.
As soon as he walked into the main hall on the first floor, he saw the youth sitting on the sofa. It was an Eastern boy, looking very nervous. He looked up at the sound and his eyes met Seth’s.
Julie came over with a fruit platter and smiled. “You’re back. Let me introduce you. This is the son of your father’s friend. He’ll be staying with us for a while. Baby, say hello. This is your older brother.”
The youth looked timid and stammered, “Hello, brother.”
“My name is Fang Chen.”
The last sentence was spoken in Chinese, his voice incredibly soft.
Seth looked him up and down. The youth was wearing the same uniform as him, probably the smallest size. The legs exposed outside the shorts were so thin.
He paused for a few seconds and looked away. “What’s the meaning of this? Is he also going to WL?”
WL was a high school in the city center where Seth was a student, though he was due to graduate in two months.
“Of course,” Julie said with a smile. “I’ll have to ask you to take good care of your younger brother.”
Seth’s tone was cold. “Not interested.”
He didn’t spare another glance and went straight upstairs with his bag.
Julie frowned and quickly turned to comfort Fang Chen. “Baby, Seth is just like that, but he’s a good person. If you need anything, feel free to bother him.”
Fang Chen lowered his head. “Thank you, Auntie.”
It was obvious that Seth disliked him. He didn’t come downstairs until it was time for dinner. Willow was not as easy-going as Julie and strictly ordered Seth to take Fang Chen to school with him tomorrow.
Fang Chen had just arrived at this home and his English wasn’t good. He only understood half of what everyone was saying. Vaguely catching a few words and looking at the cold-faced Seth opposite him, he hurriedly waved his hands. “No, no trouble…”
Seth casually threw his fork down. “Fine, I have no objection.”
Fang Chen’s words of refusal were stuck in his throat.
Julie gave him a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, your older brother will take care of you. Don’t worry when you get to school either.”
Take care of him?
Fang Chen looked at Seth opposite him. His tall frame could fit two of himself. He had heard that he was a boxer; someone like him could probably knock out one with a single punch.
Fang Chen didn’t want to cause trouble. He just wanted to get through these two months peacefully and successfully apply to WK University.
He said no more, silently lowering his head and spearing a piece of potato into his mouth.
Fang Chen’s bedroom was arranged next to Seth’s. He didn’t know if Julie was trying to improve their relationship, but the two rooms were very close.
Before returning to his room, Fang Chen glanced at the closed door and quickened his pace into his bedroom.
Unlike the smelly, hard rock that was Seth, Auntie Julie was very kind and considerate. She had prepared all the daily necessities for Fang Chen, even clothes.
Fang Chen looked at a set of folded loungewear on the bed. It was white and plush, and looked very soft. His mood improved a little. He walked over, picked up the clothes, and happily changed into them.
The clothes were very comfortable, the material soft, but… Fang Chen looked in the mirror. Why did it feel like a mascot costume? He held the two ears on the hood and seriously pondered what animal it was. A little lamb?
He didn’t expect Auntie Julie to have such a childish heart.
The clothes were great, but it was a onesie, which was too inconvenient for going to the bathroom. Fang Chen looked down and saw a zipper at the bottom. It was quite user-friendly.
He tried to fiddle with it in the bathroom, unzipping, zipping, unzipping, zipping, unzipping… it got stuck!
The Little Lamb tugged at the zipper with difficulty. It was really stuck! The long fluff from the clothes next to it had gotten caught.
These were the clothes Auntie Julie had just prepared for him. How could he have broken them so soon?
Fang Chen was a little anxious. He wanted to change out of them first and see if he could fix them, but just then, there was a knock on the door, urgent and one after another.
Fang Chen had no choice. Fortunately, the zipper wasn’t open too wide. He slightly pressed his legs together, hid behind the door, and gently opened a small crack, poking his head out. “Hello…”
His words stopped abruptly.
Standing at the door was Seth. Although they were the same age, the difference in their build was not just a little bit. Seth stood in front of him. Perhaps because he had just showered, he was only wearing a tank top, his shoulder muscles bulging, still damp with moisture.
Fang Chen froze, his eyes uncontrollably glued to him.
This shirt… makes his chest muscles look so big.
For Fang Chen, who already liked boys, this was a huge impact. He swallowed lightly, forcing his gaze away from the strong chest muscles, and asked softly, “Is there something you need?”
While Fang Chen was secretly staring at his chest, Seth was also looking down at him. This Eastern boy was actually wearing a little lamb mascot costume, poking his head out to look at him, his eyes black and bright. He wasn’t white, so how was his skin so fair and bright? His lips, however, were quite red…
Realizing what he was looking at, Seth abruptly looked away, a bit flustered. He coughed. “Mom said she wants to get you an English teacher. She wanted me to ask if you have any requirements.”
His speech was too fast, and Fang Chen didn’t understand. He said a confused “Huh?”
Seth frowned and pushed the door open to walk in. “I’ll show you their introductions—”
Fang Chen was caught off guard, still maintaining his leg-clamping posture. He didn’t expect Seth to just walk in like that.
Both of them froze.
Seth looked at him and narrowed his eyes. “What’s wrong? Do you need to use the bathroom?”
This time, his tone was slower.
Fang Chen’s face turned beet red. He stammered, “No…”
Before he could finish, Seth had already reached out, easily pushing aside Fang Chen’s blocking hand, and saw the stuck zipper.
Fang Chen’s face was so red it looked like it was about to bleed. He never expected such an embarrassing thing to happen on his first day staying here. He pleaded in a small voice, “I’ll do it myself. I can do it myself.”
Seth turned a deaf ear to his words.
His large-jointed hands fiddled with the zipper, pulling it up and down. This action inevitably brought the two closer, and Fang Chen even felt Seth’s hand touch…
He swallowed nervously.
Is it too hot in the room? Fang Chen thought dizzily. Why does my face feel so hot?
He didn’t know how much time had passed. Maybe it was only a dozen seconds, but in Fang Chen’s mind, it felt very long.
The zipper was pulled open, but Seth didn’t leave. He just stood there quietly looking at Fang Chen.
Fang Chen didn’t know what to do either. His lips moved, and he said softly, “Thank you.”
Seth said “mm,” and then looked down at him. “Weren’t you going to the bathroom?”
Fang Chen wanted to say he wasn’t, but things had already come to this point. Even if he didn’t have to, he had to. He could only give a vague response and turned to walk to the bathroom.
Seth didn’t know what he was thinking, but his eyes followed this little lamb as he walked in. He actually followed him, standing at the bathroom door like a pervert, perhaps hoping to hear some sound.
Fang Chen didn’t use the toilet but washed his face, forcing himself to calm down, then walked out pretending to be casual.
A minute before the youth came out, Seth had already sat back in the chair, his posture lazy, as if it were his own bedroom.
Fang Chen dawdled over. “I don’t need a teacher. It’s no trouble. I’ll study on my own.”
He spoke slowly, spitting out one word at a time.
Seth stared at him for a few seconds, his tone cold. “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you? You want me to get scolded?”
What?
Fang Chen’s eyes widened, and he quickly waved his hands. “I didn’t.”
Seth pretended to be impatient. “If you don’t want a teacher, then I’ll teach you.”
Huh?
Fang Chen paused, looking at Seth suspiciously.
Seth stood up, looking as if he didn’t want to talk to him anymore. “I’ll come find you during lunch break tomorrow. Don’t run around.”
With things said to this point, the Little Lamb could only nod. “Thank you, brother.”
Tsk.
Seth’s gaze grew darker.
How can this little lamb be so good at acting cute?
He must be doing it on purpose.
He looked at the youth’s soft black hair, desperately wanting to reach out and touch it, but in the end, he restrained himself and left with a straight face.
After Seth left, Fang Chen sighed and threw himself onto the bed.
This Seth looked very strict.
If he didn’t learn well, would he scold him?
Fang Chen took out his phone, opened a video app, and the first video that popped up was a kid shouting.
“I want foreigners to die—”
He didn’t sleep well on his first night in the new house, constantly dreaming in fits and starts. As a result, Fang Chen got up a little late. He hurriedly changed his clothes and ran downstairs with his schoolbag.
Seth was already sitting on the sofa waiting for him.
Fang Chen became even more anxious, apologizing repeatedly, “Sorry, I got up late, I’m sorry.”
Seth’s face was calm. He gestured with his chin. “Go to the dining room and eat breakfast first.”
Fang Chen quickly shook his head. “I won’t eat. Let’s go.”
Seth frowned tightly. “You have to eat. Go eat breakfast.”
Fang Chen had no choice but to suppress his anxiety and run to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
The butler came over and put down today’s financial newspaper. He glanced at the young master on the sofa and thought to himself how strange it was. Usually, this one had the worst temper, but today he was able to wait so patiently.
Fang Chen finished his food in a few bites and quickly ran out again, afraid that Seth would get impatient waiting. “Brother, let’s go.”
Seth looked down at him, took out a piece of tissue, and leaned over.
The sudden closeness made the Little Lamb’s body stiffen. The next second, Seth, holding the tissue, slowly wiped the salad dressing from the corner of his mouth. “Don’t be in such a hurry next time. We have time.”
Fang Chen stammered, “Okay.”
The driver was already waiting at the door. While Fang Chen was putting on his shoes, Seth naturally picked up Fang Chen’s schoolbag. Seeing this, Fang Chen quickly tried to grab it back. “Brother, I’ll carry it myself.”
Seth frowned. “Stop dawdling. We’re going to be late.”
Fang Chen, “…”
Didn’t you just say we had time?
Helpless, he could only watch as Seth walked ahead with his small schoolbag. He quickly followed.
In the car, Fang Chen politely greeted Ralph the driver. Although his English was halting, his voice was soft, and he smiled with his eyes curved. No one could see that and not have their heart soften.
Seth stared at him intently for a while, then couldn’t help but say, “Wait for me in the classroom at lunch. I’ll take you to the cafeteria.”
The Little Lamb, who had just been smiling at Ralph the driver, immediately wiped the smile off his face and nodded nervously. “Okay, thank you.”
Seth secretly gritted his teeth.
He’s doing it on purpose, isn’t he?
Smiling so sweetly at others.
But so scared of me.
Am I that fierce?
Seth’s face grew darker.
The Little Lamb was apprehensive and silently shifted his bottom, moving a little further away from Seth.
Why does he seem angry?
Are all foreign men like this?
So moody.
So scary. Could he have violent tendencies?
Seeing the Little Lamb’s actions, the fire in Seth’s heart kept rising.
The atmosphere in the car became a bit oppressive.
No one spoke again. Fang Chen silently turned his head to look at the scenery outside the window, leaving only the back of his head for Seth to see.
Seth stared sullenly at the back of his head. As he watched, he surprisingly wasn’t angry anymore.
Tsk, why is this little lamb’s head so round?
A little cute.
When they got to school, Seth was still carrying Fang Chen’s schoolbag. Fang Chen tried to take it back several times, but Seth dodged him with an excuse.
It wasn’t until he had walked him to the door of the international class that Seth finally gave him back his schoolbag, gesturing with his chin. “Go in. I’m in class A2 upstairs. Come find me if you have any problems. If someone bullies you, come find me. If there’s something you don’t understand, also come find me.”
Come on! It’s not like I’m in kindergarten, needing to find a parent at any moment.
Fang Chen had no words to retort. On the surface, he obediently nodded. “I know, brother.”
Seth finally felt a little better. He watched the Little Lamb walk into the classroom before turning to go upstairs.
The students in the international class were from all over the world. Fang Chen was a transfer student, and the teacher casually pointed to an empty seat for him.
Fang Chen was quite the introvert. He listened in class and slept on his desk during breaks, not talking to anyone. After two classes, he was about to put his head down on his desk again when someone suddenly walked over and tapped gently on his desk.
He looked up, and it was Seth.
Seth’s face was sullen. “Why didn’t you come find me?”
Fang Chen was full of question marks.
Did I miss something again?
The youth was very serious, counting on his fingers, “I wasn’t bullied, I don’t have any problems, and nothing happened.”
The implication was, so I didn’t go find you.
But after hearing this, Seth’s face grew even uglier. He put the things in his hand on the desk and said stiffly, “For you.”
He had gone to the supermarket outside to buy them: all kinds of small cakes, snacks, and a few bottles of soda.
Fang Chen was surprised, blinked his eyes, and subconsciously wanted to refuse. But looking at Seth’s face, he sensibly said, “Thank you, brother.”
Seth snorted coldly. “If Mom hadn’t told me to, I wouldn’t have bothered to come.”
Fang Chen quickly nodded. “I know. Auntie Julie is a very good person.”
Seth almost couldn’t catch his breath.
It seemed that tutoring Fang Chen in English was an urgent matter. He didn’t understand his meaning at all.
In the end, Seth left with a belly full of frustration.
Back in his own classroom, he sat down in his chair with a cold face and took a book out of his bag, throwing it on the table.
Joey next to him leaned over to look. “Learning… Chinese… a hundred sentences?”
Seth lifted his eyelids. “Don’t bother me.”
He had no choice. Since he was going to teach the Little Lamb English, he had to know a few sentences in Chinese himself.
He finally waited until the lunch break. Seth threw his book down and ran downstairs. Joey hadn’t even reacted, scratching his head, wondering why Seth was so proactive today.
The Little Lamb was sitting乖乖 in the classroom waiting for him.
The moment Seth walked in and saw this scene, the frustration that had been building up all morning lifted. But his face still looked cold. Even though he had run down, once he entered the classroom, he walked at a leisurely pace. “Let’s go, time to eat.”
Fang Chen quickly followed, his eyes shining. “What are we eating?”
“I’ll take you to a Chinese restaurant outside.”
Fang Chen hesitated for a moment.
Chinese food was quite expensive.
He said in a small voice, “We can just go to the cafeteria.”
“What are you dawdling for?”
Seth directly reached out and took the Little Lamb’s hand, walking out with a straight face, but he couldn’t suppress the slight upturn of his lips.
Fang Chen dazedly looked down.
Holding hands?
He… he he he why is he holding my hand?
Seth’s face showed no expression, but his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down.
How can it be so soft?
How can someone’s hand be so soft?
Seth’s hands were fists. Fists were stones. They were weapons that could hit others, that could KO others with one punch.
In comparison, the Little Lamb’s hand was like a soft, fluffy marshmallow, as if it would melt with just a slight squeeze.
After a few steps, Fang Chen began to struggle.
“Brother…” he said, choosing his words carefully. “Are you nervous? Your palm is sweaty.”
“…”
The English tutoring session in the afternoon ultimately failed.
It was really because Fang Chen hadn’t slept well last night, and he had just eaten. He started dozing off as soon as he got back to the classroom. At this time, English became a lullaby. The moment Seth on the other side finished a sentence, he looked up, and the Little Lamb was already fast asleep on the desk.
Seth paused for a moment, a helpless twitch at the corner of his mouth. He gently put the book down and draped his own jacket over the youth.
The Little Lamb was sleeping soundly, lying on his side, a bit of his soft cheek squeezed out, looking plump and soft, his lips slightly parted. Seth leaned closer but didn’t see the tip of his tongue inside.
He felt like he was really going crazy.
He had only just met the youth last night, but he was as if mesmerized, his gaze unable to move away from him, as if they had met a long time ago.
Fang Chen slept for the whole lunch break, and Seth watched him for the whole lunch break, even counting the eyelashes on his left and right eyes clearly, almost to the point of giving each one a name.
Fang Chen, who had slept for the whole lunch break, felt a little guilty. But Seth’s tone was light. “I went to play games at noon. I didn’t have time to teach you today anyway.”
The Little Lamb immediately felt a little better.
After school, Fang Chen was about to go back with Seth again, but this time Seth only put him in the car. “I have to go somewhere else. You go home first.”
Fang Chen hugged his schoolbag tightly and quickly said, “Then I’ll go too.”
Seth frowned and refused without thinking. “No.”
The underground boxing ring was so chaotic. How could he take the Little Lamb there?
Seeing Seth’s firm attitude, Fang Chen said no more and obediently sat back in the car. After Ralph turned a corner, he spoke, “Uncle Ralph, let’s follow my brother.”
This was the mission Uncle Willow had given him.
He had to follow Seth closely and not let him go to the underground boxing ring again.
Seth went to change his clothes, put on his gear, and walked out. The manager smiled at him as soon as he saw him. Seth’s punches were fast, steady, and ruthless. He had only been fighting here for a few months, but his reputation was already considerable. As long as he was here, the venue’s revenue would double.
“How many fights today?”
Seth glanced at the time. “Two.”
The manager said, “Eh? It’s not easy for you to come. Why not fight a few more? ‘Old Ghost’ is here today too. He’s been wanting to fight you for a long time.”
Seth was concise. “Someone’s waiting at home. I’m in a hurry.”
Just as he finished speaking, he looked up and saw Fang Chen, who had just walked in, hugging his schoolbag. The youth was too eye-catching, like a little lamb that had mistakenly entered a wolf pack. A few men had already surrounded him.
“F*CK!”
Seth cursed.
The manager had rarely seen his face so ugly. Before he could ask, Seth had already strode over.
“Hey, sweetie, here to play? Want me to buy you a couple of drinks?”
“Get lost, your stinky sweat is bothering the little baby.”
Before Fang Chen could speak, the men in front of him started fighting among themselves.
An arm reached out from behind, directly throwing the two men aside. The voice was ice-cold. “Get lost!”
The two men were about to curse, but when they looked up and saw it was Seth, the words on the tip of their tongues were swallowed back.
Although Seth was young, he fought for neither money nor his life. He was already the little king of the underground boxing ring.
After driving away the few scoundrels, Seth glared fiercely at Fang Chen. “Who let you come here?”
The Little Lamb looked up, his face looking a little pale, perhaps frightened by him.
Seth took a deep breath and softened his tone. “You shouldn’t be here.”
Fang Chen finally spoke. “Uncle said we should go home together. If you’re going to fight, I’ll wait for you here.”
Seth cursed silently in his heart.
His tone was unfriendly. “This is not a good place.”
Fang Chen tilted his head. “It’s okay. Didn’t brother say that if someone bullies me, I should find you?”
Seth’s breath hitched.
He looked at Fang Chen with a deep gaze, then suddenly reached out, pulled him forward, and pushed the Little Lamb down onto a seat in the front row.
“Sit here and wait for me.”
Fang Chen looked around. “Is it safe here?”
“Safe.”
Seth, like a lone wolf marking his territory, looked around, his voice rough. “Who would dare touch my person?”
“Okay.”
The Little Lamb smiled brightly. “Then I’ll wait for my brother here.”
He didn’t know what his words meant to Seth. It was as if a purely violent, cathartic boxing match suddenly had meaning.
And that was to win the match.
And then take this little lamb back to his den as a prize.
