Su Yiran immediately saw the ring box in Gu Yuanting’s hand and instantly recalled when they came to the island to hold their second wedding and exchange new diamond rings. At that time, Ting-ge told him that his original wedding ring had been lost, so he wanted to replace it with a pair of diamond rings as their “wedding rings.”

Su Yiran agreed, and the next day, he discovered his own wedding ring was missing. When he asked Ting-ge, Ting-ge said he had put it away for safekeeping.

Now, the only thing that didn’t make sense was that the amnesiac Ting-ge, out of jealousy, must have thrown the wedding ring into the trash… That whole “bungled wedding” was actually Ting-ge’s deliberate plan to remarry him. The new diamond rings were clearly what the amnesiac Ting-ge regarded as their wedding rings.

Su Yiran was silently speechless for a moment, then quietly went up and squatted beside Ting-ge, soothingly rubbing the top of his head. “Ting-ge, don’t worry. We’ll find the rings slowly. If we can’t find them, it’s okay.”

Gu Yuanting had long since stopped worrying about Ranran finding out. He looked up at Ranran with a lost expression: “The wedding ring… is gone…”

Back when he threw the ring into the trash, he felt so carefree; now, as he rummaged through the garbage, he felt like crying.

At that moment, the butler and Xiao Zhu exchanged a glance and silently signaled the accompanying staff. Several quietly stepped back and returned to the villa entrance. It was clearly Gu’s private matter; they didn’t want to be caught up in it. Just thinking about being reprimanded by Gu in the future made them break out in a cold sweat.

Su Yiran held Ting-ge’s head and kissed him. “It’s okay if we can’t find it. It’s just an object. Losing it isn’t something to be so upset about. We have each other, don’t we?”

Ting-ge heard Ranran’s last words and finally calmed down a bit. “Yeah…”

But when he thought about the ring, he still felt sad. “But the ring…”

Su Yiran glanced at the garbage scattered on the ground. “The ring box is still here. The ring should be inside. Let’s keep looking. If we really can’t find it, then forget it.”

Ting-ge nodded gloomily. That was all he could do. If it really was lost, he vowed to make a pair of identical rings by hand to comfort himself, since nothing else could replace them.

Ting-ge rummaged through the stinking garbage, digging into the dirty soda cans, torn plastic bags, and rotten leaves without leaving any piece of trash unturned.

Su Yiran didn’t find much on the ground, but then he remembered something. He brought over a small trash bin, turned on his phone flashlight, and shone the light inside. Soon, he spotted something small glinting faintly in the black mud at the bottom.

He reached in and immediately exclaimed to Ting-ge in delight, “I found it!”

Ting-ge looked up, surprised and happy. “Found it?” He came over to Ranran’s side and looked at the trash bin in his hand. “In the trash bin?”

“Yeah.” Su Yiran carefully dug out the small item embedded in the mud. It was indeed a diamond ring, covered in black mud, but with little glimpses of the diamond shining through the grime under the light.

“Found it!” Ting-ge smiled excitedly, the gloom and depression vanishing instantly. He carefully cupped the ring in his hand, eyes sparkling as he looked at it. “Great!”

Su Yiran couldn’t help but smile back at him. “Relieved now?”

Ting-ge nodded repeatedly, then remembered there was another ring. He quickly grabbed the trash bin and searched the bottom in the mud again. Not long after, he found the other ring and carefully pulled it out.

It turned out the pair of wedding rings had fallen to the very bottom of the trash bin. Maybe rain had soaked the garbage and mud inside, causing the rings to embed in the bottom sludge. Earlier, when he had dumped the bin upside down, the rings didn’t fall out. He was so focused on turning over the trash that he hadn’t thought of this, so he couldn’t find them.

Ting-ge tenderly wiped the mud off the rings with his sleeve and shirt, but the mud had already settled into the crevices and couldn’t be completely cleaned.

Su Yiran took the ring from him and looked at it under the light. “Actually, it’s already quite clean. When we get back home, we can take it to a professional store and have them clean it with a machine.”

“Mm,” Ting-ge nodded. Now that he was relaxed, he recalled how he had just rummaged through the trash and also the lies he told Ranran. He felt a bit embarrassed in front of him and anxiously shifted. “Just now, I…”

Su Yiran smiled. “It’s okay, I know everything. Think carefully—did you throw away anything else?”

Ting-ge was scared of himself too. Thinking back on the past few days, his mood had been a rollercoaster. The amnesiac version of himself was terrifying.

He was afraid that besides the wedding rings, the wood carving, the sweater, the house and car, and so on, he might have thrown away something else. He frowned, recalling carefully. After a long moment, he finally sighed with relief: “Nothing else.”

He was grateful he hadn’t thrown away their marriage certificate during the amnesia. The certificate issued here by the church wasn’t legally valid in their home country. For some official matters back home, they still needed a marriage certificate, so he didn’t throw that one away.

However, although he hadn’t thrown it away, he had hidden the original marriage certificate deep at the bottom of a trunk, inside the drawer of his study desk. The one on display was replaced by the foreign-language certificate issued by the church…

Ting-ge silently scolded himself repeatedly in his heart.

…When they returned, he would quickly retrieve the buried certificate.

“That’s good. The rings are found. Let’s go inside and rest.” Su Yiran breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that after Ting-ge recovered his memory, these sudden, erratic actions would finally end.

Ting-ge, relieved to have found the rings, picked up the ring box from the ground and went inside the villa with Ranran.

It was already late; they planned to sleep here for the night and fly back the next morning.

They were still filthy. Su Yiran was fine, only his coat sleeves were stained, but Ting-ge was a sorry sight. He had dressed in a suit and tie this morning, looking handsome enough to be praised by Ranran.

Now, his tie was loose, suit wrinkled, white shirt covered in dirt, face smudged with black dust, hands muddy, and his whole body smelled suspiciously of garbage.

Ting-ge saw his reflection in the mirror and scowled. In Ranran’s eyes, what kind of weird person must he have looked like?

He quickly went into the bathroom and took a shower, using Ranran’s favorite candy-scented body wash to wash clean and come out smelling sweet.

Su Yiran, already clean, smiled and kissed him several times, delighted by the candy fragrance.

Ting-ge felt warmth in his heart, picked Ranran up, and gently pressed him down on the bed…

The rings had been found, all the things lost during amnesia returned, and now he had no worries at all.

Ranran kissed Ting-ge a few times, then suddenly said thoughtfully, “So, after our second marriage, you thought it was your first night, and that’s why you lasted so fast that night. No wonder.”

To be honest, this had bothered him for some time—worried that Ting-ge’s kidneys might be unhealthy at such a young age.

Ting-ge: “…………???!!!”

He instantly recalled that time when he finished before even getting started, his face turning as black as the bottom of a pot.

Useless! That useless thing!
