“Bang!”

As Song Yu bent down to dodge, he heard a crisp sound of a bullet hitting metal.

He frowned and sharply looked up.

A piece of blue metal shielded him like a protective barrier.

[Eh? Why did I move on my own?]

Holding hands, Song Yu could hear 01’s voice.

“Wasn’t it you who told him to protect me?” Song Yu tilted his head to look at Rong Shi.

Rong Shi shook his head, also puzzled.

01 usually makes small moves based on previous commands—deliberate autonomous actions.

But this time, protecting Song Yu didn’t seem to be under its own control.

Footsteps approached fast, and Rong Shi had no time to ponder further.

01 protecting Song Yu automatically was the best thing for him.

He quickly scanned around, and before the attackers noticed, he retracted 01 and rushed with Song Yu toward the freight elevator.

“Let’s go up.”

Exposing 01 would be a huge problem for them.

Advanced weapons have always been the hottest target for power groups across eras.

Song Yu, protected by Rong Shi, ran and dodged while thinking he must have misheard.

“Why aren’t we looking for an exit? Why go up?”

Peeking through the gaps between shelves, Rong Shi observed the attackers’ movements.

“Finding an exit is for leaving, but right now, I don’t want to leave.”

AI guards controlled by 01 began to gather nearby, firing at the attackers and buying them time.

The freight elevator doors opened automatically; the two got inside.

While the elevator ascended, Song Yu removed his magazine and quickly replaced it with a fresh one from his waist.

“What do you want to do?”

After asking, he saw Rong Shi spinning 01’s form between his fingers, then transforming it into a ghostly blue heavy sniper rifle.

The weapon looked similar to a WM209, known as the “King of Heavy Snipers,” though with some subtle differences.

Song Yu’s eyes flashed, heart suddenly racing.

That dead rabbit wouldn’t be—

Reaching the top floor, Rong Shi led Song Yu out of the elevator and quickly walked down the corridor.

[Master, activate normal mode?]

Rong Shi scanned the surroundings, looking for a good sniping spot: “Protect Xiao Yu well, I don’t need your assistance here.”

[Understood.]

Listening to their conversation and looking at the heavy sniper, Song Yu’s doubts grew.

Rong Shi said 01 was a personal intelligent AI assistant, not only with intelligence beyond normal AIs but also able to transform freely into various weapons.

Such a device, if exposed, would cost Rong Shi his life.

Gunfire continued below.

Rong Shi kicked open a door, pressed against the wall, and looked through a window downward.

The entire station looked like a giant stadium, and their position overlooked the main hall.

Rong Shi set up the heavy sniper, pulled back the bolt, and aimed through the maze-like shelves, searching for the attackers.

“Call your men over.”

Song Yu: “Reinforcements should arrive in five minutes at most—”

“No reinforcements needed.” Rong Shi pulled the trigger, a bullet blew off an attacker’s head in the hall.

“Block off the three-kilometer area around the station, don’t alert other forces.”

Song Yu’s heart jumped when he heard him say quietly, “Aim at your men, don’t let a single one escape.”

The bunny is angry.

His expression was as cold as ever, but Song Yu was sure he was furious.

Rong Shi seemed indifferent but always left room to maneuver, never taking things to the extreme.

He was always cautious, thinking of safe retreats instead of counterattacks when faced with assassination.

But now, he’d put aside all concerns and was ready to make a big scene.

Inside the hall, the group of attackers took several minutes to eliminate the AI guards but realized their targets had disappeared.

“Use infrared sensors!” one attacker ordered, “Divide into three teams, move towards the rear exits.”

“Yes—” One attacker nodded halfway, then suddenly fell backward heavily.

Blood splattered on the shelves, leaving a long trail on the floor.

“Shit!” Several attackers quickly retreated from the fallen comrade, guns raised and alert.

A heavy object dropped.

Another attacker fell.

A bullet hit him between the eyes, killing him instantly.

“Get out of here!” The team leader hurriedly led his members behind shelves.

Another heavy object dropped.

The attacker near the leader was shot in the head, blood splashing onto half his face.

“Find their location!” The leader’s face flushed with rage and dread.

If they didn’t finish quickly, they’d all die here!

One attacker raised a scanner, probing in all directions.

Suddenly the device alarmed, and he shouted, “This—”

Before finishing, pain shot through his hand, and he instinctively pulled back.

The scanner and his palm were pierced!

Pain spread outward from his hand, he clenched his wrist tightly, sweat breaking on his forehead: “Over there—”

Before he finished, a high-pressure air pellet pierced through the bulletproof metal and into his forehead.

The team leader looked up at the bullet hole on the metal shield, dread growing stronger.

In less than two minutes, without even spotting the sniper hidden in the dark, their thirty-person team was down to five.

“Request reinforcements!” the leader shouted angrily into the comms, “Block the exits, they can’t escape! Everyone else, move in!”

On the rooftop, Song Yu watched Rong Shi effortlessly pick off attackers, playing them like a cat with mice, growing excited.

“You’ve trained for this since you were a kid?”

Despite Rong Shi’s usual old cadre vibe, he was only eighteen.

Such experienced shooting skills required years of high-intensity training.

Rong Shi nonchalantly took out another attacker, noticing reinforcements arriving, a faint smile on his lips.

“No special training.”

Damn!

Seeing that confident faint smile, Song Yu cursed silently.

Does he really think no matter how many people, they’re all within his shooting range?

If not for the situation, Song Yu wanted to shove him against the wall and kiss him enough.

Bunny in battle posture — completely irresistible!

“Want to learn?” Rong Shi glanced at him, “I’ll teach you.”

Song Yu pressed against the wall, took the heavy sniper handed over.

Rong Shi wrapped his arms around him from behind, whispering instructions and techniques in his ear.

The deep voice exploded next to his ear, electric tingles spread throughout his body, and Song Yu twitched his tingling fingers, thinking “Damn demon.”

Luckily, he had locked this person down early.

Song Yu steadied his mind, forcing himself to focus.

“Where does 01 get its bullets?”

“Compressed air.” Rong Shi explained, “Different compression levels cause very different lethality.”

Men have a natural love for weapons, and Song Yu was like a kid with a new toy, more and more excited.

“That’s enough.”

When only about twenty attackers remained in the hall, Rong Shi stopped Song Yu from shooting further.

Sniping from the same angle too long would eventually be noticed.

“Slow down, let’s handle the cars outside first.” Rong Shi led him out.

“Aren’t you afraid they’ll catch up?” Song Yu asked.

“No.” Rong Shi’s tone was certain. “The casualties are enough deterrence. They won’t act rashly now. I’m more afraid they’ll retreat if their numbers dwindle too much.” Only Rong Shi would say something so wild.

Song Yu hummed carelessly but smiled.

They quickly passed the corridor and reached a room near the outer side.

Looking out the window, they saw modified hover cars gathered around the station outside.

Observing their movements, Song Yu suddenly heard Rong Shi apologize again.

“Forget it.” Song Yu gave up. “We’re both wrong once. Even it out.”

Rong Shi knew he was worried but pushed him away; he also knew Song Yu would get angry but still ram the door. No one could teach either of them.

“I’ve never lost judgment because of worry.” Rong Shi looked down, “If you do something this dangerous again, I’ll still get mad.”

Snapping back, Song Yu understood Rong Shi’s intention.

He was the bait, drawing the cars’ firepower towards the gate, then making a sharp turn at the last moment to create an escape route.

Before Song Yu could speak, Rong Shi added, “I don’t treat you like a delicate flower, but if it happens again, I’ll make the same choice.”

Song Yu, who had calmed down, was speechless.

After all this, it boiled down to: “I know I was wrong, but I’ll still dare to do it next time.”

“You really want to argue with me?” Song Yu spoke heavily.

Rong Shi raised the sniper, pulled the bolt, “If I make a mistake again, you can argue with me again—”

Song Yu froze, frowned, and snapped, “You damn—”

“Couples arguing is normal,” Rong Shi said without expression, adjusting his aim through the scope, “But I also like it when you yell at me.”

The anger instantly vanished.

Song Yu gritted his teeth, angry yet secretly delighted.

The damn rabbit had completely captivated him.

So hateful!

Rong Shi: “01, expand. Increase compression by 300%.”

As he finished speaking, the heavy sniper’s shape shifted like a mech transforming, its outer shell and internal structure rapidly changing.

Rong Shi pulled the bolt and fired at the modified cars a kilometer away.

Boom! Flames erupted.

The modified hover car in the middle exploded.

A shower of parts flew from the smoke, scattered everywhere.

What was thought to be only sniping the drivers actually blew the whole car into pieces.

Song Yu was shocked by the power of a single air pellet.

Where on earth did the rabbit get 01?

Explosions echoed from all directions — clearly abnormal.

The attackers’ leader frantically tried to contact outside but found no connection.

He crouched in a corner under layers of metal, gritted his teeth, and ordered a retreat.

But halfway through, they were ambushed by hundreds of AI guards.

Their morale broken by the sniper, their combat effectiveness plummeted; half died under initial fire.

“Damn it!” The leader cursed, “Why didn’t command warn us they had such deadly weapons?!”

This mission was supposed to be an assassination on Rong Shi, but now the hunters had become the hunted!

Hearing movement behind, he turned sharply only to have an AI guard point a gun to his forehead.

His eyes widened, pupils shrinking, heart pounding.

The AI pushed the gun forward and pulled the trigger: “Bang!”

The attacker’s legs gave out, and he collapsed.

Suddenly, soap bubbles appeared at the gun’s muzzle.

“Hahaha, not scared at all — you dare mess with 01’s sponsor, you’re dead.”

The AI guard stepped on him, bent down, and picked him up like a chicken to carry away.

Except for the captured leader, all attackers were eliminated.

Song Yu stood by the window watching his subordinate Ban Li bring people in to clean up the wrecked hall.

He joked, “Wrecked a whole station. Don’t know how much compensation you owe, you spoiled rabbit.”

Putting 01 back into its decorative buckle, Rong Shi took Song Yu’s hand and headed to the elevator.

“You like giving me gifts, so are you happy now?”

The two bickered casually as they walked.

Downstairs, the blood smell was thick.

Song Yu frowned, “Don’t know which idiot planned such a big assassination.”

“Stupid, but effective.” Rong Shi’s gaze swept the attackers’ bodies on the ground. “Some people can’t hold back anymore.”

Seeing them come down, Ban Li respectfully reported, “We found the same tattoo on their arms. If I’m not mistaken, they’re from the Star Pirates.”

“No.” Rong Shi’s voice was very calm, “These people are regular military.”

So sure? He was about to ask why when Song Yu interrupted.

“Rong Shi, what’s that?” Song Yu pointed to the second shelf ahead, his face darkening.

Rong Shi followed his finger, eyes narrowing.

A damaged package spilled several syringes.

Rong Shi took one and twisted the syringe, revealing a familiar line of letters:

“SYT7737.”
