MWITA CH23
After Rong Shi finished reading the draft, he was about to close the live broadcast when the door was roughly pushed open.
Jiang Xingze stormed in, slamming his hands on the desk, his bloodshot eyes glaring at Rong Shi: “Who gave you permission to talk nonsense!”
Rong Shi looked at him calmly: “Do you have any objection to the disciplinary action?”
“Objection?” Jiang Xingze sneered, “Even if I was too busy to properly guide you, you can’t use that to take personal revenge and arbitrarily pin every mistake on me!”
Rong Shi: “You think I’m slandering you?”
Jiang Xingze became even more agitated: “Isn’t it? You’re going to discipline me based on a few words? The student council isn’t a place for you to rule unilaterally!”
Rong Shi: “You want me to release evidence?”
Jiang Xingze’s pupils dilated, then immediately calmed down.
Rong Shi absolutely couldn’t have any so-called evidence; if he did, he would have released it by now.
“Release it then! I’d like to see what you can release!”
The class break had long passed, but the two’s argument on screen caused a heated discussion throughout the school.
“Jiang Xingze is so tough, could it be that he didn’t do it?”
“Rong Shi is also tough, is there some misunderstanding?”
“They must be the first presidents to openly tear each other apart like this, right?”
“Am I the only one focused on Rong Shi grabbing Jiang Xingze by the arm?”
Their dispute also caught the attention of the school leadership.
Principal Li Huating stared at the screen, pacing back and forth with his hands behind his back.
Qian Fan knocked and entered, only to be verbally assaulted by Li Huating, who pointed at his face.
“Didn’t I tell you to rein him in?!” Li Huating roared, “If he keeps causing trouble, I won’t be principal anymore!”
“Rong Shi is a sensible child.” Qian Fan tilted his head to look at the virtual screen, “Who’s causing the trouble, I wonder.”
Li Huating’s finger trembled as he pointed at the screen, “How long has he been enrolled? He doesn’t even respect Jiang Xingze. What will happen in the future!”
Qian Fan walked to the tea table and sat down, skillfully brewing tea. “Don’t be angry, getting old makes blood vessels burst easily. Come have some tea.”
Li Huating sat down exasperated.
“Rong Shi has no intention of pairing up.” Qian Fan poured the tea from the fairness cup, picked up the first teacup, and placed it in front of Li Huating. “Don’t you think this is a good opportunity?”
Li Huating, “Opportunity?”
Qian Fan smiled, composed: “An opportunity to escape excessive interference from the military and reclaim real power.”
Li Huating’s hand, holding the teacup, trembled, and scalding tea splashed onto his hand, but he didn’t feel it.
“You mean—”
In the student council office, Rong Shi and Jiang Xingze were still at a standstill.
Jiang Xingze: “Release it then. If you dare to slander me in front of the whole school, you must bear the consequences!”
Rong Shi: “You’re my senior. I don’t want to go too far.”
“Bullshit!” Jiang Xingze couldn’t help but curse, “Either release the evidence now, or revoke the disciplinary action and publicly apologize to me!”
“Since you insist—” Rong Shi lightly swiped on the control panel, and a surveillance video was displayed.
The scene was in a classroom, with the doors and windows closed, and only Jiang Xingze, Du Rui, and Huang Long present.
“Remember, you must choose a time when Rong Shi is present to force Song Yu to hit you.” With that, Jiang Xingze tilted his head to look at Huang Long, “You’re responsible for holding Rong Shi back, just enough to prevent him from stopping it.”
Huang Long: “Won’t checking the surveillance show that we approached them?”
Du Rui: “Can’t we just find a hidden place, ambush Rong Shi, and beat him up? Why go through all this trouble?”
Jiang Xingze sneered: “What’s the point of just a beating? I want to completely ruin his reputation.”
After that, the three in the video began discussing effective stakeout points.
As soon as the video started playing its first frame, Jiang Xingze knew something was wrong and lunged to press off the live broadcast.
Rong Shi grabbed his wrist, “It’s not over yet, what’s the rush?”
Jiang Xingze swung his hand away, anxious, and threw a punch at Rong Shi’s face.
Within just a few minutes of the video playing, the two started fighting across the desk.
The longer the video played, the more agitated Jiang Xingze became, his composure gradually crumbling.
In contrast, Rong Shi remained calm and collected, like teasing a kitten, not delivering fatal blows, but also not letting the other party’s goal succeed.
Jiang Xingze’s eyes were bloodshot with anger: “Rong Shi! How did I offend you?!”
The video finished playing. Now the entire school knew it was he who framed Rong Shi.
He failed to ruin Rong Shi’s reputation and instead got himself into trouble!
Rong Shi: “You asked for it, isn’t this the result you wanted?”
Jiang Xingze stared into his eyes, disbelieving: “You did it on purpose!”
He deliberately didn’t release the evidence, setting a trap and waiting for him to jump into it himself!
In the classroom—
Qin Luo laughed out loud: “This must be an idiot, plotting to harm people in a classroom.”
The others, however, couldn’t laugh. This was the previous president; he actually did something like this!
“There are only so many places in the school. Obvious places like dorms and frequently accessed areas are too conspicuous. Random classrooms are actually safer.”
Song Yu propped his chin, a casual smile on his face, “The idea wasn’t wrong, but unfortunately, he ran into Rong Shi.”
Lu Ming and Zhang Yi both had grim expressions.
It was bad enough that Zhang Yi was exposed, but even Jiang Xingze couldn’t escape.
All his guarantees from last night had vanished like farts in the wind.
Not only did he fail to bring down Rong Shi, but he also made him seem more reliable by contrast with Jiang Xingze.
It was literally lifting a rock to drop on his own foot!
Rong Shi didn’t return until this class ended.
At the end of class, Zhang Yi followed behind Lu Ming, turning back to glare fiercely at Song Yu.
“Wait.”
Song Yu stuffed the scratch paper into his textbook, picking up Rong Shi’s textbook along with it.
He slowly walked towards Zhang Yi.
Lu Ming’s mood was complicated when he saw him approaching.
He had always been conflicted about Song Yu.
On one hand, he didn’t want Rong Shi to have an easy time, which inevitably affected Song Yu. On the other hand, his father told him to build a connection with Song Yu.
This led to the current awkward situation.
Zhang Yi couldn’t understand why Lu Ming respected Song Yu so much, and the more he respected him, the more annoyed Zhang Yi became.
“What do you want? A fight?”
Song Yu chuckled: “You’re very smart.”
As his words fell, he grabbed Zhang Yi’s hair with one hand and slammed his head against the wall.
Thud, the sound was so fast that even Lu Ming, standing next to Zhang Yi, didn’t have time to react.
Those who hadn’t left the classroom yet were startled.
Like throwing a piece of rags, Song Yu threw him to the ground, his movements swift and casual, carrying a sharp ruthlessness.
Zhang Yi’s vision went black from the impact, and a sharp pain slowly spread from his forehead.
The pain and dizziness made it impossible for him to get up.
Song Yu glanced down and said coldly, “Next time you dare to mess with me, I’ll dislocate you.”
This was directed at Zhang Yi, but it made Lu Ming’s fingertips tingle.
For some reason, he felt that the warning was meant for him.
After Song Yu left, the people in the classroom looked at each other.
This would probably mean a few more papers to write.
But what a good beating!
On the way to the cafeteria for dinner, Qin Luo casually picked a leaf and put it in his mouth: “Jiang Xingze thought he could control Rong Shi. Now he’s suffered a huge loss. How will he ever hold his head up again? I really feel sorry for him.”
“If he gives up that easily, how could he have held onto the president’s position?” Song Yu scoffed, “Just wait, there’s more to come.”
That day, the military academy forum was exceptionally lively.
So many scandals broke out that day, there wasn’t even time to keep up.
“Jiang just said he was going on a mission, then this happened. Truly tragic.”
“Tragic for what? Didn’t he bring it all on himself? Who forced him?”
“Jiang instigated, Zhang bought trolls, what about Lu? Did he not participate? I don’t believe it.”
“If Rong Shi is brought down, Lu is the biggest beneficiary [whispering]”
The top trending news was still about Rong Shi and Song Yu getting married.
“Are they getting flash married?”
“Ahhhhh my little Shi is actually getting married! [lying on the ground, lifeless]”
“I thought they would have a sweet four-year relationship, but they’re getting married in less than forty days?! Daddy disapproves, boohoohoo.”
“Which divine being chose April 1st? Getting married on April Fool’s Day is too rash?!”
“It’s all Jiang’s fault, damn it! If it weren’t for him, they wouldn’t be getting married so soon!”
“Just for this, Jiang Xingze is blacklisted for life!”
Someone jokingly said that Jiang Xingze had angered all the omegas in the school and was nailed to the pillar of shame, and it would probably be difficult for him to find a wife in the future.
At the same time, Song Ke received firsthand intelligence.
Special Assistant: “Rong Shi has publicly announced his marriage and has also offended the former president, Jiang Xingze. Without His Royal Highness, the Second Prince’s help, his future will likely be—”
Without power or influence, offending people everywhere, and the only potentially helpful person being a useless prince, his future was almost predictable.
“As long as Song Yu marries him, nothing else matters.” Song Ke smiled particularly contentedly, “Report to me immediately when they register.”
Special Assistant: “Yes!”
After leaving the student council office, Jiang Xingze went directly back to his dorm.
He sat blankly on the sofa for half an hour, then kicked over a footstool, took a deep breath, and sent a communication to Lin Feng.
–
In the afternoon, the uneasy Principal Li Huating received a communication from Lin Feng.
Half an hour later, Rong Shi was called to the principal’s office for a talk.
“You will revoke Jiang Xingze’s disciplinary action,” Li Huating’s tone was unequivocal, “Today, no, revoke it this afternoon!”
“Impossible.” Rong Shi said calmly, “I originally left room for maneuver, but he insisted I release the evidence. Now the whole school is watching, what reason can I use to revoke it?”
“I don’t care what method you use, revoke it immediately!”
Li Huating stood up abruptly, his knuckles rapping loudly on the desk.
Rong Shi looked up at him.
“You’re just venting anger. It won’t help solve the problem.”
“Then tell me what I can do?!” Li Huating slumped back, rubbing his temples, a splitting headache. “Everyone just knows how to pressure me. Am I a god, damn it?!”
Rong Shi: “If you trust me, you don’t have to do anything. I’ll handle it properly.”
“Handle it properly?” Li Huating sneered, “How will you handle it? I can’t handle it, how can you?”
The conversation broke down. Rong Shi didn’t want to waste any more words and left after expressing his refusal.
At 5 PM, everyone who was supposed to be out of class was out, and those training were running out to eat.
Someone saw the notice of disciplinary revocation on the electronic bulletin board.
“Considering his contributions to the school over the past year, after careful consideration, the decision has been made to revoke the disciplinary action? Holy cow!”
The bulletin board was quickly surrounded by people.
Some people didn’t believe it and logged onto the military academy’s official website, and indeed found the notice of Jiang Xingze’s disciplinary revocation on the internal affairs page.
“They can play it like this?”
“The notice was issued by the Political and Education Department, not the student council, which means the school leadership revoked it.”
“He didn’t get fewer benefits when he made contributions, though.”
“Having power and influence is great, isn’t it? Even crimes can be exempted from punishment. It’s disgusting!”
“You’d have to have ten years of brain clots to pull something like this off. Is it worth trampling the school’s authority like this?”
Liu Hong and the others, who had been celebrating their victory and happily eating dinner, were about to play some Star Wars when they heard the news. Their good mood immediately vanished.
Old Bai: “The higher-ups must have pressured them. Li Huating really can’t handle things.”
Liu Hong: “That old man is such a coward!”
After carefully reading the announcement, Hu Feng asked worriedly, “The Political and Education Department issued the notice over the student council’s head. It seems Rong Shi didn’t agree to the revocation. What now?”
Liu Hong pondered for a moment, then said with a grim face, “Let’s see what Rong Shi does first. If it really comes to it, I’ll get my dad involved.”
Aside from the Hu Feng incident, Rong Shi did indeed help him improve his combos and finishing moves afterward.
Despite being just a first-year student, his perspective on problems was sharper than even the instructors, making Liu Hong regret not meeting him sooner.
He just had a poisonous tongue.
In the office, Qian Fan and Zheng Hai sat together discussing the matter.
Zheng Hai held a thermos cup, his face filled with worry: “Students managing their own affairs is our tradition. Now that he’s doing this, it will shake the foundation. Not to mention the students, even the teachers will have opinions.”
Qian Fan sneered: “If Old Li acts like this, his position won’t last long either.”
“By the way, Rong Shi is getting married, what are you going to do?” Zheng Hai suddenly asked.
Qian Fan shook his head with a bitter smile: “What can I do? He said he’d die if I stopped him from dating. Can I let him die?”
Zheng Hai: “…”
–
Students who had long harbored grievances against the student council erupted over this matter.
Most student council members had excellent grades and could pair with military officers for more resources, so they had nothing to say. But why could they also be easily absolved of wrongdoing?
Were the school rules only for ordinary students?
That night, a real-name sign-in post was opened on the forum. By 10 PM, it had already gathered over eight thousand people, all real-name opposing the revocation notice and stating that if it wasn’t revoked the next day, they would all go on strike.
“Do you think Old Man Li can withstand the pressure?”
Song Yu sat opposite Rong Shi, happily scrolling through the forum.
Rong Shi was solving a math problem: “If you’re not going to write your papers, go back to your own nest.”
“Aren’t I writing?” Song Yu spread out his paper, having only written a flamboyant “Song” in the name field.
He lay on the desk, looking at Rong Shi’s hand holding the pencil, long and well-proportioned, very beautiful.
“What if that old man insists on revoking it?”
Rong Shi said while solving the problem: “The disciplinary action remains, and his position will be hard to maintain.”
“Pffft…” Song Yu couldn’t help but laugh, “Where do you get your confidence?”
Rong Shi was naturally confident. Not to mention the crazy prince opposite him who held immense power, that silly kid Liu Hong also had an impressive family background, and Chen Chen came from a military and political family.
There were plenty of people who would help; what was there for him to worry about?
By 11 o’clock, Song Yu had been chased out several times and finally returned to his own dorm.
“Jiang Xingze’s partner is Lin Feng?” Song Yu brewed himself a fresh cup of coffee.
“Yeah, Lin Xiaozong’s grandson, but not from the most favored branch,” Qin Luo chewed on dried meat, curled up on the sofa playing a game.
Lin Xiaozong was one of the three great marshals of the military, a general wielding real power.
Song Yu added five sugar cubes to his coffee, stirring it unhurriedly.
“I remember he’s been promoted in military rank these past two years?”
Qin Luo: “I heard it’s about to be approved. My dad complained that even such mud could be promoted to major general, so I remember it particularly well.”
“Yes, what major general for mud like that.” Song Yu’s voice carried a smile, “He should still train for a few more years.”
This thought circulated in Qin Luo’s mind twice, then he suddenly sat up like a springing carp.
“Brother, are you going after him?”
Song Yu took a sip, finding it not sweet enough, and added two more sugar cubes.
“No?”
Qin Luo squatted at Song Yu’s feet, his eyes shining: “Can you? Will it alert the enemy? Aren’t you holding back anymore?”
Song Yu: “The same action, done with a different motive, will lead to vastly different results.”
Qin Luo stroked his chin, pondering: “If it’s aimed at attacking a rival faction, it will definitely cause them to retaliate and also increase their vigilance.”
In a disadvantageous situation, they couldn’t act rashly.
Thinking this, he asked: “Then what motive are you planning to use?”
Song Yu chuckled: “To stand up for my wife.”
Qin Luo: “…” What the heck, wife.
