Extra 1: Wedding Vlog
Over two months later, a certain video blogger finally posted an update: a Vlog titled [Wedding Moments].
[OMG, look what I just found on my feed???]
[So the wedding is real?? I thought it was just a rumor. So Xixi came back to the country last year to get married?]
[It is real, they’ve been married for a while. This should be a belated wedding ceremony. A summer wedding is probably prettier.]
[Wow, happy wedding!!! Wishing you 99 years of happiness, Xixi!]
This video was shot with a DV camera, the footage filled with retro noise and a color tone that seemed saturated with sunlight.
However, they soon discovered that this was very different from ordinary wedding vlogs. The opening shot was strange, filmed from outside a door with no BGM. In a room piled high with pink and white roses, sunlight filtered through a stained-glass window, casting on the backs of two people.
[Wow, what a beautiful and dreamlike scene.]
They were sitting side-by-side on a long bench, their backs to the camera. Arguing.
[What is this peeping Tom perspective? Hahaha]
Zhu Zhixi: “I told you we shouldn’t have bought these flowers, didn’t I? What ‘Little White Rabbit’? They’re so bad, they won’t even open.”
The person next to him, Fu Rangyi, was mostly hidden from view. He twirled a rose in his hand, brushing the bud against Zhu Zhixi’s nose, his voice very low. “The buds are quite pretty too.”
Zhu Zhixi pushed his hand away. “Whose wedding has all flower buds! At a glance, it looks like a mountain of rice.”
[Here comes that familiar vibe, the most beautiful face with the meanest mouth, hahaha.]
[Why aren’t you showing the husband’s face? I want to see!]
[Even from just this little glimpse, you can tell he’s a super handsome guy.]
[He is indeed a super handsome guy. He’d be even more handsome if he passed a few more students at the end of next semester.]
“They’ll open after another day of waking.” Fu Rangyi was still holding the flower, and he lowered his head to blow on the bud.
“They won’t open,” Zhu Zhixi said deliberately. “How does that song go again? Little rabbit, be good, open the door for me, no, no, I won’t open… Mmph!” His mouth was covered.
[Hahahaha, your husband’s defenses are broken.]
[Did he choose Little White Rabbit roses because Xiao Xi has rabbit teeth? So cute! (But these flowers are indeed stubborn.)]
The screen went black, then suddenly transitioned. This time, Zhu Zhixi was standing outside the door, his hands on the doorframe, a look of despair on his face. “Open the door…” He turned his face, pouting. “Xiao En, why is he like this?”
Liang Yi’en, who was recording with the DV camera, laughed. “Who told you to provoke him? Just let him wake the flowers himself.”
[The cameraman’s voice is so nice. Is he an Alpha?]
[Yes, Xiao En is the Alpha who appeared before. He’s very handsome. You can check out the video about the stray animal shelter.]
“I’m afraid he’ll get depressed before the flowers even open,” Zhu Zhixi said.
“It won’t come to that.”
“How can you be so sure?” Zhu Zhixi said. “His susceptibility period is coming up soon. He’s so emotional.”
[OMG, you guys are getting married right before his susceptibility period? The wedding night… I can’t even imagine.]
“Do you think he’ll cry?” Zhu Zhixi said, leaning closer to the DV camera until only his lively eyes filled the screen.
And the camera transitioned again, to another pair of eyes, somewhat similar but more heroic, even though they were currently shedding tears and dodging the camera. The background music was completely drowned out by Zhu Zhixi’s unrestrained laughter.
“Hahahaha! Look what I found! Da Zhu! Crying in secret!” Zhu Zhixi triumphantly chased Zhu Zeran with the DV camera. “Don’t run! The last time I saw you cry was when you were wearing split-crotch pants!”
[Ah, this must be Xixi’s older brother, right? The brother is so handsome, OMG. His red eyes are so cute. He seems like he’d be a pure and good-natured puppy-dog type of handsome guy.]
[Hmph, how is a dog-thing not a dog?]
“Zhu Zhixi, are you nuts?” Zhu Zeran covered his face with his hands. “I was just yawning! What are you laughing at!”
Zhu Zhixi laughed even harder. “Well, that’s some yawn you’ve got there, a whole waterfall. I thought someone had left a faucet on!”
A line of handwritten text suddenly appeared on the screen.
This isn’t actually a wedding vlog, but a record of the tyrannical little rabbit’s rampage~
[The handwriting is so beautiful! Was it written by Xiao Xi’s husband?]
[A fellow rabbit enthusiast, I see. Good taste!]
[I was really startled to see my professor’s handwriting.]
The two brothers, tired of chasing each other, both sat down on the carpet. Zhu Zeran was still being stubborn. “Why would I cry at your wedding? Stop being so narcissistic. You just wait. Tomorrow when you cry, I’ll definitely take a ton of ugly pictures of you.”
“In your dreams! I’m telling you, Zhu Zeran, tomorrow I absolutely will not shed a single tear.”
Really??
After the handwritten text, the screen suddenly changed to a scene of Zhu Zhixi wailing in his father’s arms, hiding behind a tree to cry while listening to the wedding music, and of course, sitting at the long table listening to Fu Rangyi’s speech, crying his eyes out.
[You really can cry, hahaha, Xiao Xi.]
[Neither of you brothers has any room to talk.]
[What? A groom who gives a speech at his own wedding? His voice is so nice, but again, no face reveal. Don’t tell me we’ll get through this whole vlog without knowing what your husband looks like?]
“My clothes are all wet from crying…” Zhu Zhixi wiped his tears. “I knew I shouldn’t have chosen this fabric. A single drop of water shows up so clearly.”
Liang Yi’en laughed. “But this was the one you picked after so much deliberation.”
The scene returned to the day before. In the room were four full rows of clothing racks, all holding various kinds of formal wear. Zhu Zhixi sat on a chair with universal wheels, holding the DV camera. He pushed off the floor with the tip of his foot and glided through the middle of the clothes.
“These are the few I’ve selected so far. I kind of wanted to wear silver-gray, but it’s a wedding, so let’s stick with white.”
“These are for the guests.” He pulled them out and showed them one by one. “Since there’s a dance party, it’s too much trouble for them to prepare their own nice clothes, so I took care of everything.”
[So generous…]
[I’m a university student, send me a set!]
“They’re beautiful, right? Everyone gets their own set.”
Subtitles appeared—————That’s right, everyone.
The scene transitioned. A tiny, small dress knitted from pink and blue yarn appeared on the screen, placed on a small chair. On the skirt of the dress was a small saucer containing a miniature version of a meal.
In the light background music, with sunlight floating, a pink and white butterfly flew in and landed on a pink, heart-shaped, freeze-dried treat on the saucer.
Zhu Yu’s voice appeared in the background. “I was just counting the guests’ bouquets. Goodness, can’t mess up the task my baby gave me…” His voice got closer and closer, until he was next to the camera. “Eh? There’s a butterfly here.”
His hand appeared in the shot. A powerful, well-defined hand, but its movements were very light and careful. The little butterfly fluttered its wings and landed on his fingertip.
“This butterfly isn’t afraid of people! As friendly as our little Xi.”
The cameraman, Liang Yi’en, also laughed. “Uncle, you’re so humorous.”
The next second, the camera shook and was taken by another hand. Zhu Zhixi’s voice appeared. “Mom, look, Dad is wearing the suit from your wedding day! How about it? He’s maintained it pretty well, right?”
[Wow… how can a video be this happy? TT]
Zhu Yu, in the shot, even adjusted his tie. With red eyes, he awkwardly made a peace sign and said, “Well, as an Alpha, one must still pay attention to managing their figure.”
Then the video transitioned again. In the frame, the two fathers, dressed in suits, stood under a tree with their backs to the camera. From a distance, their conversation couldn’t be heard, only the sight of two mature men with outstanding figures.
[OMG, is this a Daddy conference?]
[Is the other one Groom #1’s dad? His posture is incredible. But so mysterious, no face reveal.]
After a retro-style blink effect, the scene changed from day to night, and two more people were added: Fu Rangyi and Zhu Zeran. Under the brilliant lights, the four men chatted with their backs to the camera, each with broad shoulders, narrow waists, and long legs, their muscles wrapped in well-tailored custom suits. Each held a glass of champagne, their posture relaxed.
[Is this the legendary 4A scenic area? The place with the highest density of Alphas is actually Teacher Zhixi’s wedding?]
[Where is this island of yours? I want to go too…]
[The food looks delicious too. The cake is as tall as the candy
apple tower.]
The long dining table was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, with long white gauze draped overhead, undulating like the tide in the sea breeze. At dusk, the sea surface sparkled, and at the horizon, the skyline was tinged with a pink and purple twilight mist.
The camera panned down. Under the lights, with music playing, people were dancing, laughing, and taking Polaroids for each other.
“It’s interview time now.” The camera moved closer, locking onto the face of Li Qiao, who was leaning against the dessert table eating a canelé.
“Ah, my thoughts on the two grooms?” Li Qiao swallowed his dessert and wiped his mouth. “Honestly, it’s very complicated. I feel like a father, a mother, and a son to them both.”
It cut to Granny. She was clapping along as she watched the people dance, her face kind. “Xiao Xi and Xiao Fu are a perfect match. They are both exceptionally kind children.”
He Xueyao’s face appeared. He was leaning against a tree, smoking, and asked with a smile, “How did you find me?”
“My thoughts? Of course, I wish them the very best.” In the background, Zhu Zhixi’s voice could be heard shouting from afar: “Ask sister-in-law what he thinks of my brother!”
[Sister-in-law???]
[Sister-in-law is so beautiful!!!!]
When the camera turned back, He Xueyao’s expression had turned a bit ugly. He raised an eyebrow. “Who? Sorry, I suddenly don’t understand Chinese anymore.” He extended his palm to block the camera, and the screen went black.
When it lit up again, it was Zhu Zeran’s face. He was holding a glass of wine and smiling, his tie loosened considerably. “I think the funniest thing is that Zhu Zhixi swore to me before that he would never get married, ha.”
[Brother has such a strong playboy vibe…]
[He’s totally a dandy young master.]
[Hahahaha, Xiao Xi really loves setting flags for himself.]
The next person was Zhu Yu. He thought about it seriously and finally said, “After he grew up, he did always say he wouldn’t get married. But actually, when Xiao Xi was very little, he said he wanted to get married.”
Zhu Zhixi immediately flushed and jumped into the frame. “Who said that? Dad, don’t talk nonsense!”
Really? Little, little Xixi
After a rewind effect, the footage suddenly changed to a true retro quality. A small child was sitting on a sandpile, wearing a blue knitted sweater and a cream-yellow sun hat with a chin strap. He was looking down, obediently building with sand.
[Ahhhhh, is that baby Xixi!!!]
The camera moved closer, focusing on the baby’s long, curled eyelashes and small nose. He looked up, his eyes big and round. Seeing the person behind the camera, he suddenly smiled.
[He even had rabbit teeth as a child, ooooh, cute little baby teeth.]
“Mom, this is you, this is Dad,” he said, pointing at two twisted cylinders made of sand and water on the ground.
