Synopsis:

Luo Ye suddenly woke up one day to find a giant countdown timer hanging in the sky that read “576 hours, 35 minutes, 45 seconds.” Assuming it was his time to die, he decided to eat well, drink well, and peacefully await his inevitable demise.

With five minutes left on the clock, Luo Ye stood on the rooftop, his patterned cat tail twitching lightly. Wanting to give his dreaded coworker a parting headache, he called him up to confess: “Honestly, I’ve had a crush on you for a really long time.” He hung up in high spirits, turned off his phone, and waited for the end.

Three… Two… One…

Luo Ye closed his eyes. Instead of a notice of death, a booming voice echoed across the sky: “Happy New Year!”

A fresh countdown instantly appeared: “8759 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds.”

Luo Ye: “…” It was just a New Year’s countdown?!

Trembling, he powered his phone back on to discover 97 missed calls and a single text message: “Where are we going on our date tomorrow?”

Luo Ye: “???”

After a long session that dragged from dawn to dusk, an aching, sore-waisted Luo Ye sat up in bed, trying desperately to save face: “Hmph, I only felt good because I drank too much alcohol.”

Chi Zhiyue blinked, his fluffy ears twitching softly: “But I only served you soda.”

Luo Ye: “…”

“We live simply to watch the withered leaves fall from the branches—all for a few poetic moments.”

A story of love at first sight after a long-awaited reunion, blooming into deep, lasting devotion.
