Bo Yu and Gu Qichi arrived at the airport at noon. Accompanying them were Wen Xi and Luo Qianqian.
Both women were incredibly busy. One was confirming the details for two luxury endorsements and three brand endorsements that Gu Qichi was scheduled to officially announce at 1:17 PM the next day. The other was actively communicating with a certain wealthy patroness.
[Last Friday 13:17]
[YUCHI]: YUCH has tipped you 50,000 RMB.
[YUCHI]: YUCH has tipped you 50,000 RMB.
[YUCHI]: Author, are you still not updating?
[YUCHI]: Author, you’ve rested for two days already. More updates, please! [Finger Heart] [Finger Heart]
Luo Qianqian had been spending most of her time browsing the Yu Qin Gu Zong super topic lately. On top of that, she had to actively assist Wen Xi with the studio’s new affairs. She hadn’t even had much time to write fanfiction.
She had rushed through an all-nighter yesterday and hastily posted the chapter on her Weibo account this morning. Before she could even bask in the “rainbow farts” (flattery) from her readers, she saw the demonic whispers from the wealthy patroness YUCHI.
Luo Qianqian felt like she was about to cry but had no tears. She was numb.
[For the Yu-Chi Millions of Times]: Sis, please take your money back. I really write for love, not for the money.
[For the Yu-Chi Millions of Times]: Besides, you’re giving way too much… You’re going to go bankrupt at this rate!!!
As usual, YUCHI didn’t reply to her.
Luo Qianqian frowned, feeling a slight headache. YUCHI really loved Gu Qichi and Bo Yu. Over the weekend, while the two of them were live-streaming, YUCHI had been completely unreachable. Luo Qianqian could completely understand; she was probably just too absorbed in shipping them.
But today was Monday, and unusually, YUCHI wasn’t online.
Luo Qianqian muttered softly, “What a strange person.”
Gu Qichi called out to her, “Qianqian, it’s time for ticket check.”
Luo Qianqian put her phone away, switched accounts, quickly returned to work mode, and replied, “Okay.”
While they were on their flight to City X, the headquarters of I Will Always Be With You in East City was welcoming a new batch of guests.
These were off-site guests responsible for watching and offering commentary. The production team would project footage from this episode onto a large screen for them to review and discuss.
The production team of I Will Always Be With You was notoriously good at stirring up drama. The host they had invited, Shen Chen, was no pushover either. She was famous for her sharp, venomous tongue and her incredibly keen eye.
She could discern the hidden motives in people’s hearts from the smallest details of their interactions and ruthlessly expose them.
It was so severe that in the previous season, after hearing Shen Chen’s sharp critique, two couples had directly quit the show. One pair ended up breaking up, and another caught a third party and headed for divorce.
It was all very messy.
Aside from this, it’s worth noting that the special guest for Gu Qichi’s group was Yu Sheng.
Of course, this was an opportunity Yu Sheng had relentlessly pestered Gu Qichi for over a week, even resorting to bribing Luo Qianqian to get.
Before filming started, Lin Jing’s accompanying PD specifically went over to Shen Chen and emphasized, “Teacher Shen, please be polite to Boss Bo and Teacher Gu. We can’t afford to offend them.”
Shen Chen didn’t say anything in response; she just sneered internally. If the production team dares to send someone to brief me in advance, this couple is definitely a fake.
She wasn’t going to listen to the production team. After all, her success and fame were built on her sharpness.
Since Gu Qichi’s group was still on the plane, the screen showed clips from their morning.
Each couple had their own focus. For instance, Han Li and Han Hao were the standard old married couple: you cook, I wash the dishes, a morning workout, and then playing with the kids for a while.
Then there was another highly popular couple, Shi Yu Mian Mian (Continuous Rain). This was the pairing of the currently popular young actor, Yin Shi, and the pure idol, Meng Fuyu. The two were still in the honeymoon phase and didn’t live together. However, early in the morning, Yin Shi brought a large bag of breakfast to Meng Fuyu’s downstairs area to enjoy the morning with her.
As this scene played, Shen Chen looked up and bluntly commented, “Putting on a show.”
The room instantly fell silent. Yu Sheng, who had been bored waiting for Gu Qichi and Bo Yu to appear, suddenly perked up. Is she about to start breaking up couples already? she thought.
Her eyes sparkled as she listened to Shen Chen continue, “Meng Fuyu doesn’t eat cilantro, yet Yin Shi bought cilantro and beef buns. Also, she’s allergic to seafood, and there’s shrimp in the porridge Yin Shi bought…”
Yu Sheng wore a look of sudden realization, but then a wave of worry washed over her. Gu Qichi and Bo Yu were so loving; would Shen Chen tear them apart until they seemed worthless too?
Speak of the devil. The next second, Gu Qichi’s face appeared on the screen in the viewing room.
It was the latest footage from this morning.
As usual, Gu Qichi and Bo Yu were buried in their pillows, fast asleep.
The door was pushed open a crack, and a silver-gray head squeezed in. Ah Ci yawned as she familiarly jumped onto their bed, intending to lie on Gu Qichi’s chest.
Yu Sheng, who was paying close attention, suddenly heard Shen Chen say, “What’s that? Gu Qichi raised a pig?”
Yu Sheng: “…”
She glanced at the still-moving Ah Ci, the corners of her mouth twitching twice, and began to educate Shen Chen, “This is Chi… Teacher Qichi’s silver-shaded British Shorthair. She’s also the recognized mascot among the Yu Qin Gu Zong CP fans…”
Shen Chen let out an “Oh” and continued to stare intently at the screen.
Ah Ci didn’t successfully manage to lie on Gu Qichi’s chest. As usual, she was caught. Bo Yu picked her up by the scruff of her neck, and the two engaged in a silent stare-down.
“No bothering him.” Bo Yu was also very sleepy; his eyes were narrowed, and his voice carried the hoarseness of someone who had just woken up. But the silver-shaded cat in his hand looked unconvinced, baring her claws and teeth. Bo Yu compromised, “You sleep here with me.”
Ah Ci wasn’t willing. Her face scrunched up as she chose her favorite spot.
She went to sleep on Bo Yu’s head. From this angle, she could wholeheartedly admire Gu Qichi’s face.
Bo Yu pushed her paws away to prevent her from stepping on Gu Qichi’s hair, then pulled Gu Qichi closer into his embrace a few times. He buried his face in the crook of the other man’s neck—the movement suggested he kissed him a few times—before finally going back to sleep.
When it was time to get up, Bo Yu didn’t wake Gu Qichi. Instead, he directly picked him up and carried him into the dressing room. He helped Gu Qichi put on all his clothes, then placed him back on the bed to put on his socks.
Looking at the exceptionally gorgeous and formal suit he was wearing, Gu Qichi was a bit bewildered. He reached out and pinched Bo Yu’s cheek. “Why did you dress me like this? It’s not like we’re walking a red carpet, and I don’t have a magazine shoot today.”
Bo Yu let him pinch his cheek, his hands never stopping as he wrapped two very thick socks around Gu Qichi’s feet. He said naturally, “We’re going on a date today. You have to look nice, of course.”
Gu Qichi was so shocked by this statement that he was speechless for a moment. He narrowed his eyes. “Have you secretly prepared something behind my back again?”
He felt a bit helpless and started to scold Bo Yu, “You must have gone to an auction to buy gemstones again. That’s such a waste of money.”
Bo Yu helped him straighten his collar, a hint of a smile appearing in his eyes and on his brow. “I didn’t buy anything,” he paused, then added, “And it wouldn’t be a waste of money. Money spent on you is never a waste.”
Gu Qichi thought for a moment and stood up. “I don’t like houses, cars, or land either. Oh right, I’m not interested in shares in your company, either.”
His birthday was tomorrow. Even thinking with his toes, he could guess why Bo Yu had dressed him so gorgeously.
It was just that they were heading to City X for filming, and it was impossible for Bo Yu to hold some massive banquet thousands of miles away in City X. Gu Qichi thought it over and concluded that Bo Yu could only be planning to gift him those expensive things.
Bo Yu reached out to press down a stubborn cowlick that had popped up after Gu Qichi slept. “I didn’t prepare any of those things. Just relax and enjoy the trip.”
Gu Qichi shot him a suspicious look and went to wash up with him.
Their interactions throughout were exceptionally natural, like a married couple who had lived together for a long time, yet they maintained the sweetness of a honeymoon phase.
Gu Qichi’s usually unchanging iceberg face displayed many subtle expressions when facing Bo Yu, making him look exceptionally lively.
While waiting for Bo Yu to make breakfast, Gu Qichi was pouring cat food for Ah Ci.
The silver-shaded cat had eaten so much she looked like a double-door refrigerator. Her physique was robust, yet she was still staring eagerly at the cat treat in Gu Qichi’s hand.
Gu Qichi filled the food bowl, his fingers sinking into the scruff of Ah Ci’s neck, massaging that soft spot. Ah Ci let out a comfortable purr.
“Why haven’t you been sleeping on my chest lately?” Gu Qichi asked as he pet her and fed her the cat treat. “I’m a bit unused to not being woken up by you crushing me.”
Ah Ci licked the treat, feeling a bit sad upon hearing Gu Qichi’s words. Her cat face scrunched up, and she pitiably scratched Gu Qichi’s thigh with her paw pads.
Ah Ci loved sleeping with Gu Qichi. She used to sleep in his arms, but now, Gu Qichi’s arms were occupied by the poop-scooper surnamed Bo. Ah Ci had to settle for the next best thing and sleep on Gu Qichi’s chest, but every time, before she could fall asleep, her owner would be woken up by her.
Ah Ci also wanted Gu Qichi to sleep a little longer, so she had to retreat again and again, ending up sleeping on Bo Yu’s head.
Looking at her face, Gu Qichi let out a laugh. “Next time, just sneakily sleep on me. Don’t go bother Bo Yu.”
The production team had done some simple editing on this segment, even adding a cat-head special effect over Gu Qichi.
Yu Sheng was completely immersed in the joy of shipping her CP, admiring the great beauty’s unparalleled looks, when she heard Shen Chen, who was sitting next to her, mutter softly, “He’s actually quite cute.”
This was quickly followed by another sentence: “Those two are actually quite loving.”
Yu Sheng mentally added a sentence of her own: They are clearly super loving!
She just hadn’t expected to accidentally voice her inner thoughts aloud. Not only did she say it, but her voice was also quite loud.
The recording studio fell into another bout of silence. Shen Chen turned her head to look at her, and Yu Sheng smiled awkwardly. She then saw the other woman lean in rather uncomfortably to ask her, “Are they usually this affectionate?”
Yu Sheng instantly perked up, grabbing her sleeve and beginning to educate her, not even having time to look at the screen showing the next set of guests.
Shen Chen was forced to listen to a two-hour love story about Yu Qin Gu Zong, even forgetting to liven up the atmosphere during the middle segments.
By the end of it, her brain was completely numb. During the intermission, she didn’t forget to sigh and remark, “Yu Qin Gu Zong is so good to ship…”

The temperature in City X was even lower than in East City, likely because it was a high-altitude region. Layers of steep mountains overlapped, hidden behind a vast blue sky. Snow-capped peaks dominated the landscape, while colorful flags fluttered below, accompanied by many buildings featuring ethnic architectural styles.
After Gu Qichi arrived at the hotel and put away his luggage, he received a task card from the PD.
