CFFIL CH2
“No, this is too weird to wear.”
“This is how you should wear it, baby, you’re too cute.” Jamin clutched his heart. “I can’t even guess how many people will confess to you at the party.”
Hearing him say that, Fang Chen became even more determined to change out of the clothes.
But Jamin held his arm tightly. “Listen to me, baby, this is an animal-themed costume party. This is how you’re supposed to dress. Everyone is the same, it’s not weird at all, I promise.”
Fang Chen pursed his lips, looking at himself in the mirror over and over. He was so embarrassed that even the tips of his ears were tinged with a faint red.
He had never worn such short pants before. To be precise, it was a one-piece suit, milky white. He didn’t know what material it was; it didn’t feel thick to the touch, but it looked fluffy.
The pants below were styled like bloomers, just past the top of his thighs. The most embarrassing part was the small, round ball on the back of the pants.
“Little lamb.” Jamin grinned and grabbed the small ball with his chin. “I’ve caught your tail.”
Fang Chen said helplessly, “Stop messing around. What about you? What are you wearing?”
“Don’t worry, of course, I’m prepared.”
Jamin took out a few clips from the cabinet, putting a pair on Fang Chen, just above his ears. They were little lamb ears, white and fluffy, with a hint of pale pink.
As for himself, it was much simpler. He wore a headband on his head. “I’m Mr. Fox today. Alright, let’s go, I want to introduce you to a few friends.”
Fang Chen was dragged out. He struggled a couple of times. “No, wait, do I really have to wear this…”
Resistance was futile. Jamin pulled him forcefully. “Let’s go, if we’re late, it’ll close. Do you still want to sell your watch or not?”
Poverty dealt Fang Chen a heavy blow. He silently let go, wearing the awkward little lamb costume, and left with Jamin.
Before this, Fang Chen had never attended such a party. His limited knowledge all came from American TV shows he had watched before. In his imagination, there would definitely be deafening music and disco balls that could blind a person.
But it was the complete opposite.
Only after entering did he realize that the lighting here was rather dim, with a yellowish hue everywhere. He didn’t know who had chosen the location, but the interior decoration was very strange, as if inside a cave. There were no common tables and chairs, but rather some rocks that looked like stone stools. Even the candlesticks were placed in small rock caves.
Moreover, everyone was dressed as various animals. This couldn’t help but give Fang Chen the illusion that he had stumbled into some strange world, where in a low cave, animals had turned into people, holding wine glasses and mingling.
Fang Chen was still looking around in surprise when Jamin next to him let out a flirtatious whistle and started chatting with a man wearing “bull horns.”
“Baby, you can look around by yourself for a bit. I’ll come find you later.”
Jamin turned his head and waved at Fang Chen, then walked away intimately with the “bull horn” man. Fang Chen didn’t even have time to speak. He opened his mouth, only to see the “bull horn” man’s large hand move down, accurately grabbing Jamin’s butt.
Fang Chen quickly turned his head away.
Alright, playing separately was fine. It would be more convenient for him to sell the ticket.
But, how to find a rich mark?
Fang Chen turned his head and looked around. Unfortunately, under the theme of the party, most people were in costume, making it difficult to judge their wealth from their clothes.
Passing by a cubicle blocked by a curtain, he curiously lifted it and peeked inside. He didn’t expect to see two people kissing passionately. Hearing the sound, one of them stopped, squinted his eyes, and looked Fang Chen up and down, then said cheerfully, “Little lamb, want to join in?”
Fang Chen was so scared his face turned both white and red. “No, no, I’m sorry, please continue.”
He turned and ran away in a panic.
“Joey!” The girl sitting on his lap glared at him. “You never told me you liked men!”
“No, baby, I was joking with him. Of course, I don’t. I only like you.” Joey held her face and gave her a kiss. “Do you think I’m Seth?”
Hearing this name, the girl’s expression showed a hint of surprise. “Is he really coming to the party today?”
“He said he would, but it’s not certain when.” Joey bit her lip again. “Forget about that guy whose temper is as bad as a rock. Come to my apartment tonight. We can watch a movie together.”
“And after the movie…”
“Of course, we’ll do something more interesting. Or perhaps we can do both at the same time.”
…
After walking quite a distance, the heat on Fang Chen’s face had still not dissipated. Alright, he knew that foreign countries were more open; he just hadn’t gotten used to it yet.
Fang Chen walked with his head down for a while before stopping.
He slapped his own face, forcing himself to stop being embarrassed! He took a deep breath, adjusted his mindset, and decided to rally his spirits and set off again!
Selling the ticket was the most important thing!
He had to sell the ticket today!
But when he looked up, Fang Chen was stunned.
Where had he walked to?
The lighting was even dimmer than in the main hall, barely enough to see. The path ahead twisted and turned, and looking further, it was completely dark.
Fang Chen felt a bit creeped out, remembering the American horror movies he used to watch. Maybe a perverted serial killer was hiding somewhere.
He swallowed and was about to turn back the way he came when he suddenly stopped.
Not far ahead, it seemed like someone was sitting there.
Fang Chen hesitated, then took two small steps forward. This time he saw clearly. The person was sitting lazily on a stone stool, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, scrolling through his phone.
He looked carefully and confirmed that this person was alone, with no one in his arms or next to him.
More importantly, even in this dim environment, Fang Chen saw at a glance the watch on the man’s wrist. He didn’t know how many diamonds were embedded in it, but it was dazzling enough.
A.
Rich person.
Found one!
Just at that moment, the man put out his cigarette and suddenly looked up, his sharp gaze turning in this direction.
The moment their eyes met, Fang Chen’s breath caught.
The man was wearing a mask, a gray wolf design. The material seemed to be black iron, exuding a simple and oppressive aura. Seeing it suddenly in the dim environment made Fang Chen’s heart skip a beat.
It was as if he were a little lamb hiding in the dark, being stared at by a wolf.
The man looked at him but said nothing.
Through the dark mask, a pair of gray-blue eyes stared intently at Fang Chen. Under the pressure of this gaze, Fang Chen soon couldn’t take it anymore. He licked his lips and boldly walked over.
“Hello, sir.”
Only after getting closer did he realize that the man wasn’t wearing a special animal costume, but a simple shirt and slacks. However, due to his slightly lazy sitting posture, the buttons on his shirt were straining a bit, and the strong pectoral muscles underneath were vaguely visible.
A phrase flashed through Fang Chen’s mind.
A brute in a suit!
Hearing Fang Chen’s words, the man raised an eyebrow, put down his phone, and propped his forehead on one hand, looking at the young man before him with a seemingly casual air.
Fang Chen paused, inexplicably a little nervous. He lowered his voice and asked carefully, “Do you like to watch boxing matches?”
“Hmm? Whose match?”
The man’s lazy voice was a bit low, with a nonchalant tone.
As soon as the voice entered his ears, Fang Chen was slightly stunned. It sounded a bit familiar, but he didn’t have time to think about it and quickly continued, “It’s Seth Bolton’s. You know him, right? He’s… uh, a very amazing boxer.”
As Fang Chen spoke, he clenched his little fist and threw a punch into the air in front of him.
He was immersed in the excitement of about to sell the ticket and didn’t notice the man beside him looking at him with a dark and unpredictable gaze.
Seth’s rather cold gaze fell on the young man.
So this was “Oily Rat.” But he was clearly just a little lamb.
Seth had long noticed someone staring at him. He pretended to be playing with his phone, and in his peripheral vision, he saw a little lamb peeking at him from behind the rock wall next to him.
It was an Asian boy with dark hair and bright eyes, dressed as a little lamb, with two soft, pink-tinged sheep ears on his head.
Could such a small thing be a fake ticket scalper that even the police couldn’t handle?
Perhaps he had deliberately dressed like this to make people let their guard down.
Thinking of this, Seth’s expression grew even colder, but his tone remained as calm as usual. “So, how much are you selling his tickets for?”
Fang Chen looked at the man’s watch again, hardened his heart, and boldly said, “Four thousand dollars.”
Seth almost laughed out loud.
This fake ticket scalper really dared to ask for that much.
His thin lips parted, and he asked faintly, “Four thousand dollars for one ticket?”
What a greedy little thing.
I hope when you’re locked up in prison later, little one, you won’t regret today’s big appetite.
Being questioned like this made Fang Chen a little nervous, afraid that this big fish would slip away. He quickly said, “Sir, the price can be negotiated.”
“No, four thousand dollars it is.”
Seth stood up slowly and slightly turned his watch. “But this isn’t a suitable place. Let’s change locations for the transaction.”
What’s not suitable about it?
There’s no one around, it’s dim and dark.
Fang Chen thought it was quite suitable.
But the client was the boss.
He nodded obediently. “Okay, as you wish.”
He hadn’t felt it when the man was sitting, but after he stood up, he realized the man was so much taller than him. Fang Chen followed behind the man, silently sizing him up. He was probably only up to the man’s chest, and that was with his slightly heeled shoes today.
How come my height and appearance didn’t change after transmigrating? Still 175cm. Fang Chen thought indignantly. And the men here are all so tall, making me look like I haven’t finished growing!
He grumbled to himself all the way, not noticing that he had followed the man all the way out.
This seemed to be the back door of the party. It was empty, not a soul in sight. The night was dark, without even a single light, a pitch-black expanse.
Fang Chen inexplicably felt a little panicked and couldn’t help but move a step closer to the man, wanting to end this transaction quickly. “Sir, what payment method do you prefer? Is cash okay?”
The man turned his head to look at him. The cold gray wolf mask looked particularly gloomy in the night. He said slowly, “When you are a little lamb, you should remember the law of the jungle. At the very least, you should stay far away from the wolf.”
What?
Before Fang Chen could react, he suddenly saw the man raise his hand. With a light and swift movement, he forcefully pressed his hand behind his back. The next second, he was pressed against the cold wall.
“Bad guy, this is the end of the line.”
