by RottenPotatoThose brief sentences jolted Bai Su completely awake almost instantaneously.
Thinking back to that woman whose face he had never clearly seen from start to finish—her attire was fashionable yet not revealing, leaning toward mature and opulent, making it genuinely hard to gauge her age.
Especially looking down at the ring on his finger now, the engraved letters made it crystal clear that this entire ordeal had been a misunderstanding of his own making from beginning to end.
Bai Su didn’t understand why, but ever since seeing the photograph of Uncle Qin with someone else, he had felt as though possessed by an evil spirit, completely unable to think calmly.
Everything seemed so bizarre; he felt like he wasn’t even himself anymore.
Yet those thoughts had genuinely brewed inside his own mind, and those actions had been carried out with his own hands; he had no excuse to hide behind.
Even now, a lingering dread still gnawed at his heart—worried that even if Uncle Qin truly only had eyes for him right now, would the man eventually lose interest, take a fancy to someone else, crave a biological child of his own blood, or discard him for a lucrative marriage alliance in the future?
Bai Su knew he shouldn’t think this way, but he simply couldn’t control it!
Bai Su had always known that deep down, he wasn’t an entirely good person. While he took great care of those he truly held in his heart, he kept strict score of every slight or humiliation from others, determined to retaliate in full.
He had always put on a harmless, gentle facade before Uncle Qin to maximize the man’s goodwill. Yet in his heart, he knew he was nowhere near as pure as he appeared.
Moreover, his possessiveness and adoration toward Uncle Qin were so intense that even he found it frightening at times.
Countless times, he had envisioned locking this man up, confining him by his side where no one else could lay eyes on him, refusing to share him with a soul.
In fact, from the moment he drugged Uncle Qin yesterday and brought him here, an unprecedented surge of fulfillment had blossomed in his chest.
This property had been purchased with the very first pot of gold he earned as a hacker. Every single detail of the decor had been arranged with meticulous care.
He had fantasized about living here together with Uncle Qin in the future, where this very room would be the haven where they shared passion and warmth night after night.
Or perhaps… a prison where he would keep the man confined.
The hidden cameras planted across the room long ago, the windows and reinforced locks—all laid bare his unspeakable desires.
If someone were locked in here, they would never be able to escape on their own strength.
This was a dark dream Bai Su had harbored deep in his heart for ages. While others might find it spine-chilling, it was his most ardent longing.
This intense, twisted love felt as though it had been predestined in the dark.
From the very first moment he laid eyes on Uncle Qin, his heart had beaten only for him, and his entire soul had gone mad for him alone!
Concealing the stubborn obsession that still lingered in his eyes, the youth wore a face full of remorse.
As if fully aware of how terribly wrong he had been, he nervously grasped the man’s hand. With reddened eyes and a fragile expression, he pleaded, “Uncle Qin, I know I was wrong! Please, forgive me… don’t be angry with me. I’ll do anything for you!”
As he spoke, he deliberately shifted his posture, loosening his already untied bathrobe to reveal fair skin dotted with marks left behind from their earlier passion.
Seeing this, Chen Tian couldn’t help gulping. Angry at his little treasure? How could he be!
His explanation earlier was solely to clear up the misunderstanding. The second the youth showed weakness, Chen Tian surrendered completely.
Hastily pulling the boy into a tight embrace, he peppered kisses across his soft cheeks before planting a firm suck on those rosy lips. Chen Tian hurried to console him: “What right or wrong? I know Xiao Bai only did it because you care so much about me. How could I ever be mad about that? I couldn’t be happier!”
“Baby, what are you standing there for? Hurry and put the ring on your hubby!”
Hearing Uncle Qin refer to himself as his “hubby,” and recalling the shameless words the man had coaxed out of him during their earlier intimacy, Bai Su’s blush spread from his cheeks all the way to his ears. Still, his body relaxed completely.
Holding the ring he had clutched tightly in his hand, he slid it onto Chen Tian’s finger, only for the man to domineeringly pinch his chin and thoroughly kiss him once more.
Gazing at Bai Su nestled obediently in his arms, Chen Tian felt utterly satisfied. Only then did he ask his lover, “Xiao Bai, can you tell me what happened now? Why did you return so suddenly? I remember you said the university exchange would last half a month, but only a week has passed.”
Moreover, Chen Tian found the timing far too coincidental—how did Bai Su manage to run into him and Sophia at the restaurant the very moment he returned? It was as if it had been orchestrated in advance.
This time, Bai Su didn’t hide anything from Chen Tian. With the haze of jealousy and fury cleared from his vision, he too had sensed something off. He recounted everything—how his classmate abroad had shown him the tabloid gossip on her phone.
After finishing, Bai Su worried that Uncle Qin would find him excessively controlling, prone to extreme reactions over minor gossip, so he ducked his head with a sheepish mumble, the picture of an obedient, repentant youth.
Seeing Bai Su looking dejected again, how could Chen Tian bear it? Naturally, he used his formidable stamina to comfort him wholeheartedly!
Unlike the first round, Bai Su had now untied the knot in his heart, making the experience all the more blissful for body and soul.
Under Chen Tian’s tender onslaught, Bai Su ended up giving him a thorough tour of every corner of the room, sparing neither the door, the bathtub, nor the vanity sink.
After their sweet indulgence, Chen Tian watched the youth fall asleep exhaustedly in his embrace. He kissed Bai Su’s forehead and gathered him close, only then letting his expression turn chilly.
It seemed the misunderstanding between him and Xiao Bai was man-made. He had seen the news report earlier; it was mere tabloid chatter that ordinary people would hardly ever stumble across.
Yet during the brief window when Bai Su was abroad and away from him, someone had conveniently shoved it right in front of his face. The person who delivered that information was undoubtedly a crucial link.
If someone claimed that classmate was innocent, Chen Tian would never believe it.
There weren’t that many coincidences in this world; most were carefully orchestrated.
“009, check if there’s a mastermind behind these news reports.”
Issuing the command decisively to the system, Chen Tian had already realized that those ambiguous headlines and seemingly minor schemes to sow discord wouldn’t have blown up had it not been for Bai Su’s unstable soul condition—he might not even have noticed.
If they were merely an ordinary couple, this small incident would have become a thorn lodged in his partner’s heart.
Perhaps his lover wouldn’t lash out right away, but if similar rumors occurred one after another, even the tiniest seed would inevitably take root, sprouting into a towering tree of mistrust.
009 was exceptionally efficient. As long as actions occurred over the network or left digital footprints on electronic devices, 009 could trace them.
Soon enough, the system confirmed that the puppet master behind this seemingly minor piece of gossip was a small entertainment company under Mu Jingming.
Furthermore, Mu Jingming’s secretary had previously wired a sum of money under the guise of an “R&D investment” to a B University student.
That student happened to be part of the exchange trip with Bai Su. Needless to say, she was the very person who had shown Bai Su the online gossip.
“Good job,” Chen Tian praised. The findings were well within expectations.
Such convoluted, underhanded tactics were indeed typical of Mu Jingming. Otherwise, in the original plotline, he wouldn’t have single-handedly stirred up several times more misunderstandings between the male and female leads than anyone else.
If he wasn’t mistaken, the man certainly had follow-up moves planned.
Yet whatever schemes he harbored, Chen Tian would never let him succeed.
The Mu Corporation was formidable—though slightly behind the Qin Corporation, it was still among the top-tier dynasties. Even so, teaching Mu Jingming a lesson would hardly be difficult for Chen Tian.
However, the fact that he himself had been the catalyst for Bai Su’s emotional instability across both worlds drew Chen Tian’s keen attention.
He had now pieced together a strong suspicion: perhaps he had become the core obsession rooted within Bai Su’s soul. Even stripped of his memories, his lover retained an instinctual love for him. Yet because this love was so profound, it could easily warp into paranoid mania if provoked.
Thinking of how deeply Bai Su loved him, Chen Tian felt only boundless sweetness, not an ounce of annoyance. Still, if that was the crux of the issue, he would have to be far more vigilant going forward.
The next morning, Bai Su woke to a rich aroma. The bedroom door stood open, and before long, Uncle Qin walked in carrying freshly cooked dishes.
He had originally planned to serve his lover in bed, but with such a lavish breakfast spread featuring multiple varieties, Bai Su chose to eat at the table—though Chen Tian still spoon-fed him the entire time.
Watching his precious treasure stare at him with bright, shining eyes like a deliriously happy puppy, Chen Tian half-wondered if dog ears and a tail would sprout from the youth in the next second.
Afterward, right in front of Bai Su, Chen Tian phoned the Qin ancestral manor directly, stating that he wouldn’t be returning for the time being and would be staying outside for a while.
Where he intended to stay went without saying, bringing an immediate look of delighted surprise to Bai Su’s face.
“I can tell you put a lot of heart into decorating this house. Have you wanted to live here with Uncle Qin for a long time?”
Chen Tian tapped Bai Su’s nose tip. Seeing the boy’s blush, he leaned in for another kiss, adding, “As long as you like it here, we can live here indefinitely.”
Bai Su was overjoyed, yet still tried hard to rationalize it: “I just thought this area was closer to the university, making commuting more convenient.” Inwardly, however, he was reveling in having a world for just the two of them.
A few days later, Chen Tian told Bai Su that he had investigated the incident. The culprit behind shoving those tabloid articles in front of him was almost certainly Mu Jingming.
Hearing that their misunderstanding was orchestrated by someone behind the scenes, Bai Su’s eyes turned razor-sharp in an instant.
He would never spare anyone who dared plot against his relationship with Uncle Qin. This Mu Jingming—he would make him pay dearly!
Yet before Bai Su could formulate his next move, he saw Chen Tian casually pick up the alarm clock from the bedside table, shift the top decoration aside, and reveal the concealed camera lens beneath.
“Uncle Qin!”
Bai Su’s eyes widened in horror, his voice trembling slightly.
Biting down hard on his lower lip, the panic that had finally settled over the past few days surged right back up.
Uncle Qin might forgive his extraordinary possessiveness and control issues, but could he tolerate him being an outright pervert?
What was worse, during their very first time in this room, he had genuinely harbored the intention of recording something so that if they truly had a falling out, he could use the footage as blackmail.
Who could have guessed that in the very next second, Chen Tian simply set the camera clock back in place, leaned in to kiss the corner of Bai Su’s lips, and murmured softly, “It took me a few days to notice what made this room so special, and there’s more than one. I had no idea my Xiao Bai had such hobbies!”
“Do you love Uncle Qin that much? Not only did you want to trap me, you even wanted to record it.”
The man’s tone carried a contented sigh, making the despairing youth freeze in shock.
Seeing the boy’s stunned expression, the corners of Chen Tian’s lips curved upward. Sitting down on the bed, he beckoned to his lover.
Once Bai Su drew near, Chen Tian whispered huskily in his ear with bewitching allure: “Baby, Uncle loves you. As long as it pleases you, I’m willing to give you anything…”
