A wish.

Cheng Huanzhen propped himself up on the sofa with one hand. His mind was already a bit muddled from the ceaseless kissing.

In his hazy state, he made his wish: “I want you to be happy forever, Little Uncle.”

Little Uncle chuckled out loud with delight.

He hooked his arms around Cheng Huanzhen’s neck again, pulling him down forcefully to continue kissing.

Today, for the birthday banquet, Little Uncle had specially put on perfume.

Usually, Little Uncle’s style was understated, but today he had rarely worn tuberose perfume. He hadn’t sprayed much; the scent was faint. Only by getting close could one catch a whiff of the fragrance that seemed to drift in and out.

But right now, he was extremely close to Little Uncle.

Belly to belly, chest to chest, lip to lip. The scent of tuberose grew rich and intense, rushing into his nose all at once.

In this instant, Cheng Huanzhen seemed to recall the scene when he first met Little Uncle all those years ago.

Back then, Little Uncle was still “Young Uncle.” He loved wearing red, tied his hair in a ponytail, and was lively and youthful. His arrival shattered the life Cheng Huanzhen had lived for the past twenty years.

It felt like a long time had passed since then.

But counting carefully, it had only been three years.

Three years. Cheng Huanzhen recalled the changes in himself; the difference was like night and day. Comparing his current self to who he was three years ago, not just in the eyes of outsiders, but even in front of his father and grandfather, it would be hard for them to say this was the same person.

When Cheng Huanzhen tried to recall his life from three years ago, it took some effort to remember the appearance of that parched desert which held only black and white.

Counting back and forth, there wasn’t a single part worth remembering or cherishing.

But what about these three years after meeting Little Uncle?

Life had changed color; the world transformed from black and white to technicolor.

There was sunshine in the sky, flowers and grass on the ground, and even the air he breathed became fragrant and sweet.

Cheng Huanzhen kissed, embraced, reminisced in his mind, and pressed close in reality, reacting instantly.

His reaction was always so honest.

He loved Little Uncle, wanted Little Uncle, and his body always followed suit immediately.

Little Uncle was poked by him.

Eyebrows raised high, he slapped him.

But as he slapped, he laughed again.

Laughing and laughing, they ended up entangled together once more.

The night was beautiful for romance.

So, they held each other, lay prone, sat, and stood, not stopping until one of them was completely drained of energy.

However, today, for a rare change, Lin Chen didn’t climb straight into bed.

He lay there recovering for half an hour, then climbed up again and ran to the living room to open the boxes and cards, wanting to see if he could find some special blessings inside.

Cheng Huanzhen sat opposite him and opened them together with him.

Lin Chen hadn’t cut his hair recently.

It had grown past his shoulders, so he kept the length, permed it into slight curls, and dyed it a near-black brown.

Just now, a lock of hair fell from the side in front of his eyes. Just as Lin Chen was about to reach out to tuck it back, a hand from across reached over faster, gently lifting the strand and tucking it behind his ear.

Lin Chen looked up and saw Cheng Huanzhen gazing at him unblinkingly.

Lin Chen asked: “What are you looking at?”

Cheng Huanzhen answered: “Looking at my lover, Little Uncle.”

Lin Chen was surprised: “Where did you learn that line?”

Cheng Huanzhen answered sincerely: “I thought of it myself. I read a book a few days ago that said you should express your love more often to the one you love.”

Lin Chen laughed at him: “Don’t just learn random things. It’s fine just the way it is now.”

Lin Chen beckoned to him with a finger and said: “Come here, sit on my side. Don’t just stare at me.”

Cheng Huanzhen moved over.

Sitting on the same side, he indeed couldn’t stare at Little Uncle working anymore. But kissing Little Uncle, nuzzling Little Uncle, and hugging Little Uncle every now and then became much more convenient.

Sometimes Little Uncle would find him clingy, sighing over his behavior again and again, yet he would always tacitly allow his actions.

Cheng Huanzhen thought, this was probably what they meant by saying one thing but feeling another.

Recently, he often bought various things for Little Uncle to wear.

Including but not limited to clothes, scarves, shoes, normal necklaces that weren’t part of a set and wouldn’t jingle-jangle, and monocles that could be practical but were mostly for decoration, and so on.

And right now, Little Uncle was wearing the new pajamas and slippers he had bought a few days ago. Cheng Huanzhen felt that holding him felt better, and his mood was even better than before.

So, hugging and hugging, Cheng Huanzhen carried Little Uncle onto the bed.

They lay down together, facing each other under the same duvet, very close. Cheng Huanzhen kissed Little Uncle’s neck, then kissed the tip of his ear.

Kissing and kissing, he kissed himself into a daze, and a matter that had been lingering in his mind these past few days naturally popped out.

Cheng Huanzhen said hoarsely: “Little Uncle, let me tell you something. Recently, I’ve been researching the conditions for same-sex marriage registration in the country… We meet all the requirements.”

Lin Chen was stunned for a moment. He stopped kissing, looked up, and smiled at him: “What? Want to register?”

Cheng Huanzhen’s expression didn’t change. Looking serious, mature, and reliable, he took a box out of his pocket. Then, gazing into Lin Chen’s eyes, he took his hand and gently slid something onto his finger.

He was pressed very tightly against Lin Chen, and right now their hands were sandwiched between their chests and abdomens. He couldn’t see his hands.

Cheng Huanzhen couldn’t see, and naturally, Lin Chen couldn’t either. But he could clearly feel the sensation of a ring slipping onto his finger.

Lin Chen’s breathing involuntarily lightened.

He heard Cheng Huanzhen say softly: “Little Uncle, you know, I’ve always been very grateful for your arrival. Thank you for appearing in my life, and thank you for staying in my life. If possible, I hope to spend the rest of my life with you openly and legitimately.”

“Of course, this isn’t a formal proposal. I just… just wanted to let you know my thoughts in advance, and then ask about your attitude beforehand. If you think it’s still a bit early to discuss this topic, Little Uncle, I can wait longer, until you feel it’s appropriate to talk about it. If you feel we can discuss this topic now, then I will prepare seriously and pick a formal, good time to ask you.”

Cheng Huanzhen spoke earnestly and sincerely, just as he always had.

Lin Chen’s fingertips brushed over his eyes, feeling that his eyes were sincere too.

So, Lin Chen asked him: “Why didn’t you invite more people to today’s birthday banquet?”

Cheng Huanzhen was stunned for a moment: “If I invited people you weren’t that familiar with… I assumed you wouldn’t like that kind of scene very much, Little Uncle.”

Lin Chen gently brushed away his nervousness and chuckled softly: “Bustle is work, quiet is life. So, this is the same.”

“I don’t need or seek a passionate and grand proposal. Since you came to ask my attitude today, I will tell you my attitude directly. There’s no need for so many troublesome procedures. After the birthday is over, let’s go on a global trip together. When we return from the trip, if everything is still well, then let’s get married. How about that?”

Lin Chen’s answer was so direct that Cheng Huanzhen was speechless for a moment, his gaze becoming unfocused.

Seeing he didn’t speak, Lin Chen raised an eyebrow and said: “Of course, if you think this won’t work, then…”

Before he could finish, Lin Chen’s lips were blocked.

Kissing, kissing, kissing.

Cheng Huanzhen kissed away the rest of the words completely before their lips finally parted.

Specks of moonlight were reflected in Cheng Huanzhen’s eyes.

He said: “Of course it’s okay, of course it’s okay! Little Uncle, then when do we start the trip? How long will we travel? Can we travel for a month first, come back, get married, hold the wedding, and then start the second round of global travel? What kind of wedding do you like, Little Uncle? What kind of wedding suit do you like? I’ll go right now…”

Lin Chen’s finger pressed against Cheng Huanzhen’s lips.

Lin Chen smiled: “Global travel means circling the globe before coming back, no speeding up secretly allowed.”

His voice softened again: “Don’t be in such a rush to prepare those things. When we come back from the trip, let’s choose and look together, okay?”

Cheng Huanzhen couldn’t help but kiss Lin Chen’s fingers, then kiss Lin Chen’s eyes.

He said hoarsely: “Okay, Little Uncle. Of course, okay. Whatever you say.”

The birthday night passed quietly like this.

But one year’s birthday has passed, and there will be a second and third year’s birthday in the future. One year’s Strawberry Festival has passed, and there will be a second and third year’s Strawberry Festival in the future.

Everything will turn into ordinary days and nights.
