Extra 3: Birthday Surprise

After the wedding, the two did not spend the entire summer on a honeymoon as imagined.

Due to a provincial-level scientific research project and an archaeology summer camp, Fu Rangyi returned to work in late July. Zhu Zhixi left even earlier. A marine conservation volunteer project he had long wanted to apply for reopened, and he quickly applied. On the third day, he left with his bag, heading off to the sea to conserve coral reefs and pick up trash.

The two busy people suddenly living apart after marriage was, of course, something to get used to. Therefore, they scheduled video calls, talking across time zones and distances.

In late August, as Fu Rangyi’s birthday approached, Zhu Zhixi planned to secretly return to the country to give him a surprise. The day before his return, he video-called Fu Rangyi as usual. His side was a sunny beach; Fu Rangyi’s was late at night, still working overtime at his computer.

“I feel like your hair has gotten longer,” Zhu Zhixi said, sitting under a beach umbrella in his snorkeling swimsuit, his eyes fixed on the screen. “Can you tie it up yet?”

Fu Rangyi leaned back in his chair, also staring at him. “I don’t know. We’ll see when you get back.” Hearing this, Zhu Zhixi couldn’t help but smile. “You miss me, huh?”

Fu Rangyi didn’t say anything, and even pretended to start reading a paper. Just as his gaze shifted, he suddenly heard other people’s voices in his headphones, speaking English, calling Zhu Zhixi “dear.” He looked up and saw a white man, wearing the same project team swimsuit as Zhu Zhixi, walking over from a distance to say hello. From his body language, it seemed he wanted to hug him.

However, Zhu Zhixi first pointed to his phone and said to the man in English, “Sorry, I’m on a call with my husband. We can talk later.”

So the man shrugged and walked away with a pout.

“Your colleague?” Fu Rangyi made no secret of his displeasure.

“Yeah, I guess so.” Zhu Zhixi smiled. “He just came last week. He’s very outgoing. We’ve had a couple of meals together.”

“Meals…” Fu Rangyi repeated, then fell silent for a few seconds, still not ready to let it go. He asked again, “Does this curly-haired guy always talk like that?”

Zhu Zhixi almost laughed. “He’s Italian. Flirting is in their genes. Husband, are you jealous?”

“What do I have to be jealous of?” Fu Rangyi pushed up his glasses. “I just want to remind you to be careful when making friends.”

“I know.” Zhu Zhixi liked seeing him jealous, so he said deliberately, “But… I seem to remember someone saying before that they wouldn’t interfere with my freedom to make friends. Who was that?”

Fu Rangyi’s face was tense. After a while, he said stiffly, “I don’t mean to interfere. I just hope you’ll do some basic IQ screening when making friends.”

Isn’t that a bit harsh? Zhu Zhixi was a little unhappy. “IQ screening? Are you saying my friends generally aren’t smart enough? Fu Rangyi, why are you being so discriminatory?”

“I didn’t mean that.” Although Fu Rangyi said so, his mind was full of that simple-minded, well-built curly-haired man.

Zhu Zhixi’s mouth, once started, had no intention of stopping. “Then I get it. How about this? When I get back, you can organize a gathering. Invite all your fellow students from your PhD days, your current colleagues, oh, and all those people from Li Qiao’s research institute. Their IQs are definitely at the top of the pyramid, right? I’ll add them all on WeChat one by one and become friends with them. Are you satisfied with the quality of my friendships then?”

After hearing this, Fu Rangyi took off his glasses, pinched the bridge of his nose, took a deep breath, and said, “Zhu Zhixi, be reasonable.”

Zhu Zhixi had already picked up his phone and was walking forcefully on the sand. “The unreasonable person is now going to have dinner. The reasonable Professor Fu should also get to bed soon.”

Fu Rangyi said helplessly, “Why are you holding such a grudge?”

“Mhm, mhm. The unreasonable and grudge-holding Zhu Zhixi is about to hang up.” Just as he finished speaking, the curly-haired man from before grinned and waved at him again. Before he could come over, Zhu Zhixi shouted, “Can you let me be alone for a while?”

Fu Rangyi, on the other hand, laughed out loud. “That angry?”

Zhu Zhixi tilted his head and said to the camera, “Who says I’m angry? Was it you? My reasonable and not-grudge-holding husband?”

Fu Rangyi stared at his sun-reddened face, the smile still on his face. “Go have dinner, you kind, reasonable, and magnanimous little rabbit.”

Zhu Zhixi was stunned. The camera moved away and only came back after a few seconds. He forced his face to show no expression and said, “All day long, it’s rabbit, rabbit… why don’t you just marry a rabbit?”

After hearing this, Fu Rangyi, almost without thinking, said bluntly, “It’s because of you that I started to like rabbits.”

Zhu Zhixi was taken aback. It felt as if 99 fluffy bunnies had been stuffed into his chest, hopping around chaotically. After hanging up, his phone vibrated again. It was a message from Fu Rangyi.

[Husband on duty: Little rabbit, I miss you. –Your husband who talks nonsense when he’s jealous but has now come to his senses and wants to apologize to you.]

Zhu Zhixi read this message countless times, especially when he was bored on the plane. When he landed in S-City, it was the afternoon of August 25th. Zhu Zhixi had already found out that Fu Rangyi had a meeting in the afternoon and wouldn’t be home too early.

So he went straight home, set everything up, changed his clothes, prepared the surprise, and sat on the sofa waiting. At 7:30 in the evening, he finally heard the voice prompt of the password lock unlocking at the door. He jumped up and ran to the door.

The moment Fu Rangyi opened the door, Zhu Zhixi leaped onto him. “Surprise!”

The unexpected appearance clearly startled Fu Rangyi. But he still instinctively caught the little koala. When he took a closer look, he found that today’s koala was dressed like a big white rabbit, wearing a large, ankle-length white plush bunny onesie with floppy ears, the hood also on, with long white floppy ears dangling by the side of his face.

“Why did you suddenly come back?” Fu Rangyi’s hands supported the base of his thighs, lifting him up a little, and he lowered his head to kiss his lips. “You deliberately didn’t tell me?”

“Yeah. Are you very surprised?” Zhu Zhixi smiled and nuzzled his nose. “Husband, happy birthday.” Fu Rangyi was stunned for a moment.

“You didn’t forget, did you?” Zhu Zhixi’s hands clasped behind his neck, his fingers gently pressing his glands a few times. “It’s your birthday today, so I came back especially for it.”

“And you even specially dressed up like a little rabbit. Thank you.” Just as Fu Rangyi was about to lower his head to kiss him, the little rabbit let go of his hands, patted his shoulder, got down from him, and stood in front of him.

Before he could understand what was happening, Zhu Zhixi shook his head and said, “It’s too early to say thank you.”
With that, he raised his hand, held the heart-shaped zipper at the top of the jacket, and said with a smile, “The real little rabbit birthday suit is inside.”

With that, he pulled the zipper, slowly, section by section, and the large plush jacket opened, revealing a bunny girl outfit inside: a white strapless bodysuit, a pink ribbon bow tie at the neck, and white lace garter stockings on his two long legs.

The sun on the island was abundant. Although he didn’t tan easily, his skin tone was still a little darker than before. Before, it was snow-white; now it had a hint of a sun-kissed honey color, which was even more obvious in contrast to the pure white stockings.

Although the size of the outfit wasn’t a big problem, and the waistline was just right, it wasn’t made for a male Beta after all, so the chest area was very empty. With the height difference, from this angle, Fu Rangyi could actually see a little.

Zhu Zhixi was completely unaware. He took off the hood, and the white bunny ear headband he was wearing, which had been pressed down for a long time, finally sprang up, standing up again, one ear fully erect, the other half-folded, looking just like rabbit ears growing out of his head.

The jacket hung loosely on his shoulders, half-covering him. Zhu Zhixi was a little surprised that Fu Rangyi hadn’t said a word. He looked up, reached out, and grabbed the end of Fu Rangyi’s tie, pulling him closer.

Their chests pressed together, the distance becoming ambiguous. With a lift of his head, Zhu Zhixi could kiss him. But he deliberately maintained some distance, just raising his eyes to ask, his tone light and sticky, “You don’t like it? Then I’ll change.”

Fu Rangyi didn’t answer. His arms went straight through the jacket and wrapped around his waist, and he lowered his head to kiss him forcefully. They hadn’t kissed in so long. The moment his tongue entered, Zhu Zhixi’s whole body went soft. “Mmm…” He leaned directly into Fu Rangyi’s arms, letting his hands caress his back.

This outfit was backless, with crisscrossing pink threads at the waist, tied very tightly. When tying the knot for himself, Zhu Zhixi had spent quite a while. And at this moment, as Fu Rangyi kissed him, his hands traced down along those threads, further and further down, until they finally touched a new surprise.

This was completely unexpected. Even the kiss was interrupted. Fu Rangyi’s eyes widened, his expression as innocent and shocked as a high school boy. “A tail?” He kneaded the small, fluffy ball, then let go.

Zhu Zhixi smiled, his hands hooking around his neck. He deliberately rubbed the “tail” against his palm and said sweetly, “Of course rabbits have tails.”
After speaking, he stood on his tiptoes slightly and said in a whisper, “Let me tell you a secret. This tail can move.” He kissed Fu Rangyi’s earlobe, his fingers brushing past the glands behind his ear. “Want to see?”

Fu Rangyi’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, his breathing becoming heavy.
This is really stupid. He lowered his eyes, then raised them again. After a moment of silence, he still let out a low “Mhm.” Zhu Zhixi was satisfied. He tilted his head and came before him. “Then you say, ‘Thank you, little rabbit angel,’ and I’ll…”

Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang. Both of them were startled and looked at each other. The next second, through the door, they heard the most familiar and least wanted voice.

“Zhu Zhixi, hurry up and open the door for your brother! Quick!”

Zhu Zhixi was about to go crazy. He looked down at his outfit and cursed under his breath, “Why would this psycho suddenly show up? Help…”

Fu Rangyi cursed the person with his eyes, then in a few quick movements, helped his wife put on the plush pajama. Three minutes later, the two little husbands opened the door, both wearing the same annoyed expression.

“What are you two doing?” Zhu Zeran looked at their outfits, one like a big rabbit, the other a suit-and-tie corporate slave. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think I walked into some theme park.”

“What do you want…” Zhu Zhixi was speechless. “Spit it out…”

“Look at you, so full of resentment. Dad was right. You really need some conditioning.” After saying that, Zhu Zeran pointed to the old man standing beside him. “This is the famous doctor Dad found for you. It was arranged long ago to condition your body. You said you were coming back today. He was afraid you wouldn’t listen and wouldn’t be willing to go, so he asked me to bring the person to take your pulse. Don’t just stand there stunned. Invite the old Chinese medicine doctor in.”

Fifteen minutes passed, and Fu Rangyi was still a little dazed. He couldn’t figure out how his birthday surprise had turned into a family gathering around the dining table to watch an old Chinese medicine doctor.

Does the family planning committee have a grudge against him?

“How is it?” Zhu Zeran turned his head to ask the famous doctor sitting next to him. “Doctor, is my younger brother’s health okay? I see him running around and full of energy every day, traveling all over the world.”

“Shut up,” Zhu Zhixi sat opposite, full of resentment.

But watching Zhu Zhixi and Zhu Zeran fight was still very interesting. Fu Rangyi rested his chin on his hand, watching the two with great interest.

Zhu Zeran turned to look at him again. “No, isn’t it hot wearing so much in this hot weather?”

Zhu Zhixi: “Not hot. Mind your own business.”

The doctor also looked over, staring at the shiny sweat on his forehead. “Young man, you’re already sweating. Are you really not hot?”

Zhu Zhixi smiled. “It’s okay, Doctor. I’m not hot, just weak.”

Hearing this, Fu Rangyi almost laughed out loud. He held it in, but Zhu Zeran didn’t, and even laughed loudly. The doctor, however, was very honest. He felt his pulse and said, “Your pulse is strong. You’re not weak, not weak at all.”

Zhu Zeran laughed even more happily. “I think you’re just running a fever.”

Zhu Zhixi: “……… Are you the doctor or is he? If you’re so talkative, why don’t you set up a stall on the street?”

Seeing this, the doctor quickly mediated a few words. After seriously taking his pulse for a round, he explained it in detail, took out a pen and paper, and began to write a prescription. Zhu Zeran watched with great interest, asking all sorts of questions, including some personal questions about “Omegas.”

Normally, Zhu Zhixi would definitely have made a few sarcastic remarks, but he couldn’t be bothered now. Because his little secret had been discovered by Fu Rangyi.

From the moment the doctor started writing the prescription, Fu Rangyi’s hand reached over from under the table. Through the plush pajama, his fingertips touched his knee and moved upward, stopping and starting. This was already difficult enough to endure. Zhu Zhixi kicked Fu Rangyi’s foot, telling him to behave.

So Fu Rangyi withdrew his hand. Coincidentally, as he withdrew it, he happened to touch the pocket of his pajama. It was bulging and hard inside.

Zhu Zhixi instantly reached out to cover it, but he wasn’t successful. Fu Rangyi had already taken out the thing in his pocket—a small remote control.

There were only two buttons on it. Fu Rangyi rested his chin on his right hand, and with his left hand, he played with the small object under the table, looking down at it for a while. Zhu Zhixi reached out to grab it but failed. Instead, he accidentally caused him to press the left button.

A subtle buzzing sound started.

The two people opposite him both looked up at the same time. Zhu Zeran stared at the two of them.

Zhu Zhixi instantly straightened his body, his hands gripping Fu Rangyi’s left arm tightly. “Whose phone is ringing?” Zhu Zeran asked.

Zhu Zhixi let out a sigh of relief, but he wasn’t completely relieved. He squeezed Fu Rangyi’s arm hard and clamped his legs together. “Mine,” Fu Rangyi said flatly. “Sorry, Doctor, please continue.” As he spoke, he lowered his head, fumbled in his suit jacket with his right hand, and pressed the right button with his left.

The buzzing sound stopped. Zhu Zhixi was momentarily revived, his back drenched in sweat.

“That’s about it,” the doctor finished writing and checked it over himself. “Your health is actually very good. It’s just that you have some dryness and internal heat. Internal heat damages the body fluids, and there’s a deficiency of body fluids…”

Zhu Zeran couldn’t help but laugh out loud again. Zhu Zhixi’s face turned red and then pale. Fu Rangyi, however, was very calm, a faint, unreadable smile playing on his lips.

“Replenish.” Zhu Zhixi quickly said, “Doctor, I don’t understand what you’re saying. Just tell me how to take the medicine. I’ll definitely be good and take it.”

“Okay. With this attitude, your body will recover even better,” the doctor said with a smile. He gave a few more instructions, telling him that he would have the paste decocted and sent over, and someone would tell him how to drink it then.

“Did you hear that? Listen to the doctor.”

After a lot of fuss, Zhu Zeran was finally about to leave with the famous doctor. The two got up to see them off. The doctor was too responsible and stood at the entrance, giving many more health tips. Zhu Zhixi felt that he wasn’t just having internal heat; he was about to have an internal explosion.

After the doctor finished his long-winded speech, he finally left. Zhu Zhixi held onto the side of the door and waved. “Take care. Thank you, goodbye!”

“What about me?” Zhu Zeran crossed his arms.

“Get lost!” Zhu Zhixi said and directly closed the door. Before the person was far, he stomped his foot in anger. “How can there be such an annoying person as Zhu Zeran? Why, why, why is he still my brother? I’m so angry…”

As he was cursing, Zhu Zhixi looked up and saw Fu Rangyi’s faint smile. His anger flared up. “Still smiling, still smiling! You’re no good either. It’s bad enough you deliberately seduced me, but you also… I’m so angry. What kind of birthday is this? I’m not celebrating it anymore. Give me back the remote. You’re in cahoots with him. I’m canceling your birthday… Mmph!”

Before he could finish, Fu Rangyi pushed him against the wall and kissed him abruptly.

He kissed him deeply, provocatively, taking the word “seduction” to the extreme. It was just a kiss, but Zhu Zhixi was already dizzy and disoriented. It took him a while to remember what had just happened. He gathered his anger again, pushed him, and wanted to continue his tantrum. “How could you… Mmm…”

But he didn’t have the strength to throw a tantrum. This was no different from acting spoiled. His chin, the side of his neck, wet kisses traveled all the way down until the small heart-shaped zipper was caught by his teeth and pulled down.

The jacket was taken off in the slowest way possible, falling down. Fu Rangyi also knelt on the ground, kissing his lower abdomen, his fingers playfully hooking the garter above his stocking. The stocking was a bit tight, and his fingertips slid over the squeezed thigh flesh.

“You’re very beautiful today,” he looked up, his expression calm, but his tone was very sincere.

Zhu Zhixi’s heart thumped. He looked down, staring at Fu Rangyi, seeing his unmovable gaze. He let go of his little temper and shyness. Pushed against the wall, he lifted one leg.

The stocking-clad foot, pointed, lightly tapped on Fu Rangyi’s bent knee and slid down. “Even your mouth has become sweet.”

“You like it this much?”

He straightened his foot all the way down and stepped on it. “It’s hard down there too.”

Fu Rangyi let him step on it, lowered his head to kiss his leg, the sharp teeth that had been stimulated by the excitement grinding against the stocking, biting.
