OGP CH60
by DewdropTLAt two in the morning, having played the game continuously for over a dozen hours, Liu-ge simply couldn’t hold out any longer. With immense reluctance, he shut down the game and went to sleep, planning to pick it back up when he woke tomorrow.
His dreams were filled with scenes of Sun Wukong brandishing the golden cudgel and wreaking havoc in every direction—he even wondered how wonderful it would have been if he could have watched an animation like this as a child. Their Monkey Bro wasn’t inferior to those robot protagonists in the slightest, and he had so much personality!
Many children shared the exact same thought as Liu-ge.
In elementary school group chats, Journey to the West was spreading like wildfire.
This alternate world had a strict age-rating system for games; titles suitable for children were classified as Class-A games, and parents held a very welcoming attitude toward them.
On weekends, many parents would proactively take their kids to experience holographic games, while children who didn’t want to go out could play mobile games at home, with the play duration managed by their parents.
Children nowadays all had their own social circles; when one kid played a game and found it fun, the other kids around them would quickly follow suit. After all, once back at school, everyone would discuss “what games they played over the weekend,” and if you hadn’t played it, you wouldn’t be able to keep up with the trend.
This weekend, the game generating the most buzz among the kids was Journey to the West.
“Sun Wukong knows the Seventy-Two Transformations; I love that skill.”
“He can cross a hundred and eight thousand li in a single somersault with the Somersault Cloud!”
“He even looted the Dragon Palace’s Sea-Calming Divine Needle and altered King Yan’s Book of Life and Death.”
“Monkey Bro is so cool, he’s not afraid of anyone!”
Among the children, word spread rapidly from ten to a hundred.
Because the game’s first chapter was free, children could download it directly on their own phones without having to go through a “parental payment authorization” step.
That Sunday, Journey to the West‘s downloads saw another explosive surge.
The children on weekend break mobilized almost en masse.
One phone after another downloaded Journey to the West, group chat after group chat buzzed with discussions about Sun Wukong, and screenshots flooded the kids’ Moments feeds, alarming even many parents and teachers.
What kind of game was this? Did it really possess such magic?
Driven by curiosity, parents searched for introductions to the game.
The hashtag #SunWukongIsTooOverpowered#, which had climbed onto the trending list in the early hours of the morning, not only maintained a firm grip on the #1 spot on the gaming charts, but by Sunday noon, fueled by discussions from hordes of players, had been propelled to #1 on Weibo’s overall main trending list!
Many parents joined the discussion as well.
The trending topic remained on the charts for ten full hours, racking up over a hundred million views—a testament to how intense the buzz was. Even people outside gaming who never played games took notice of the name “Sun Wukong.”
Who was this Sun Wukong at the top of the trending list? Many non-gamers clicked into the topic with curiosity, only to be astonished to discover—it was a video game protagonist, and a monkey at that!
Even more people downloaded the game out of sheer curiosity.
It was free anyway, so they might as well give it a try.
Skilled players who hadn’t known about the new release yesterday also flocked in by reputation—solely to take on Challenge mode. Rumor had it that Challenge mode was brutally difficult and well worth testing!
The influx of top-tier gamers turned the Journey to the West game forums into a bustling hub of activity.
Numerous strategy guides sprang up across the dedicated forum sections.
When people clicked in to take a look, they discovered that every master had a unique strategy. Some leaped onto the Bull Demon King to strike his head; others shrank down and darted through gaps to target his legs. Videos of diverse, bizarre playstyles left casual players stunned—this game looked insanely fun!
Even more players rushed to download the game.
…
On Sunday, the streamers who had cleared the Book of Life and Death the day before began progressing through the subsequent story.
Lingmao TV streamer Mengtu was a well-known “comedic female streamer” who possessed lightning-fast hand speed and regularly hosted giveaways in her channel, attracting countless viewers.
Her channel enjoyed immense popularity; when she went live on Sunday noon, concurrent viewership rapidly breached the one-million mark.
Adjusting her camera, Mengtu said with a beaming smile, “Family, I’m back! Last night I dreamt that my Monkey Bro was picking up clamshells in the Dragon Palace and gathering heaps and heaps of money. This dream is an auspicious omen showing I’m going to get rich this year, so let’s do a 666 red-packet giveaway for everyone!”
The bullet comments flooded the screen continuously:
[Rabbit Sister is so generous!]
[“Generous Rabbit” is back again, hurry up and grab the red packets~]
[You won’t bankrupt yourself this time, right?]
Taking a sip of milk tea, Mengtu said, “Yesterday we played up to Stage 5, where Monkey Bro domineeringly overturned the Ghost Realm’s Senluo Hall, struck off his own name in the Book of Life and Death, and conveniently crossed out a whole troop of monkeys while he was at it.”
“I have to say, with a Monkey King boss like this, every monkey gets to bask in the perks!”
“However, I feel things are looking dicey. Monkey Bro offended the Dragon King of the East Sea and crossed the Ghost Realm’s King Yan; looks like this bunch is heading up to the Heavenly Court to complain.”
“According to the game’s world-building, the Jade Emperor of the Heavenly Realm is essentially the ultimate big boss, while the folks in the Dragon Palace and the Ghost Realm are his subordinates. Naturally, after being bullied, they’re going to complain to the boss.”
“How will the big boss react? Will he send troops to arrest our Monkey Bro?”
[Act Six: Great Sage Equal to Heaven]
The new stage opened directly with an animated cutscene.
Sure enough, the group from the Dragon Palace and the Ghost Realm had rushed up to the Heavenly Court to file their complaints.
The Jade Emperor had never expected an unremarkable “demon monkey” could cause such a massive ruckus, and thus decided to dispatch troops to eradicate the demon monkey of Huaguo Mountain.
An immortal named “Taibai Jinxing” advised the Emperor, saying that since this monkey was nurtured by Heaven and Earth and possessed such formidable abilities, he was no different from a mortal who had achieved immortality. Heaven virtues the preservation of life; rather than destroying him, why not bestow a minor official title upon him and summon him to the Heavenly Court where he could be easily supervised? If he stirred up trouble again later, capturing him from up close would be just as easy.
The Jade Emperor adopted this proposal and dispatched Taibai Jinxing to offer amnesty and enlist him. Simple-minded and guileless, Sun Wukong followed Taibai Jinxing up to the Heavenly Court upon hearing that Heaven wanted to bestow an official rank upon him.
The Jade Emperor inquired where vacancies were available. Looking down on this demon monkey, the heavenly officials replied that “the Imperial Stables lack a supervisor.” Going with the flow, the Jade Emperor casually appointed Sun Wukong as the Protector of the Horses (Bi Mawen) to take up the post.
Sun Wukong arrived at the Imperial Stables.
Over a thousand heavenly steeds of various colors resided here, each robust and brimming with vitality.
[System: Acquired title [Protector of the Horses (Bi Mawen)]]
[System: Objective updated — [Learn to feed and groom heavenly steeds]]
Mengtu said, “They want us to feed horses? Alright then, how does one feed heavenly horses?”
Following the system prompts, she first herded the steeds out to graze. After grazing, she had to take them around the paddock for a few laps, bathe them afterward, and finally guide them back to rest.
The next morning, it was back to grazing again…
The quest loop repeated several times, prompting Mengtu to complain, “Looping horse feeding is so boring! There’s no way our Monkey Bro wouldn’t find this dull, right?”
Soon, a line of text faded onto the screen: Half a month later.
The animated cutscene played.
Sun Wukong was bored and chatting with several subordinates, touching on the matter of official ranks. Curious, he asked, “What sort of official title is this Bi Mawen of mine? What rank does it hold?”
A subordinate answered, “It has no rank.”
Puzzled, Sun Wukong asked, “No rank? Does that mean the post is extraordinarily high?”
The subordinate replied, “Not high, not high at all! It is unranked—the lowest and smallest of all official positions, only fit for tending horses.”
Sun Wukong flew into a towering rage: “To look down upon Old Sun in such a manner! In Huaguo Mountain, I am king over countless monkeys and grandchildren, yet you tricked me into coming to the Heavenly Realm just to muck stables for him? Old Sun quits!” (Note 1)
No sooner had the words left his mouth than Sun Wukong somersaulted on his cloud straight out of Heaven, nimbly returning to Huaguo Mountain.
The viewers watching the animation were stunned.
[Our Monkey Bro went on strike?!]
[Good riddance to that heavenly residency permit!]
[Sun Wukong: “What kind of trash job is this? Screw this, I quit!”]
[Isn’t being the Monkey King way cooler? Even I found the horse-tending quest mind-numbing.]
The game’s sense of immersion was truly superb. The horse-tending task the system issued earlier had required Mengtu to do five consecutive rounds, which had indeed been agonizingly dull.
It was hard to imagine how Sun Wukong wouldn’t have gone stir-crazy if he had stayed in Heaven indefinitely.
No wonder he went on strike and quit.
Giving him the lowest position and sticking him with horse chores—who wouldn’t strike over that? What was so great about a heavenly registration anyway? Rather than feeding horses every day, it was vastly better to return to Huaguo Mountain and be a free, untamed Monkey King!
Players completely resonated with Sun Wukong, fully empathizing with his choice.
After striking, Sun Wukong returned to Huaguo Mountain. When the monkeys asked what title he had held in the Heavenly Palace, Sun Wukong furiously explained that he had been tending horses. The monkeys suggested, “With Your Majesty’s immense supernatural powers, why not style yourself the ‘Great Sage Equal to Heaven’, living as long as Heaven and Earth!”
Sun Wukong was overjoyed: “Splendid, splendid! Fashion a banner at once emblazoned with ‘Great Sage Equal to Heaven’! From this day forth, Old Sun is the—Great Sage Equal to Heaven!”
[System: Acquired title [Great Sage Equal to Heaven]]
Mengtu opened the menu; there were currently three titles available: Handsome Monkey King, Protector of the Horses (Bi Mawen), and Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
She equipped the newly acquired “Great Sage Equal to Heaven.” The four golden characters “Great Sage Equal to Heaven” hovered prominently in front of the player character “Sun Wukong”—looking remarkably badass.
[Great Sage Equal to Heaven, living as long as Heaven and Earth—Monkey Bro 666!]
[After going on strike, Monkey Bro is setting up his own shop!]
[Others get fired by their boss; our Monkey Bro is so badass he directly fired his boss!]
[Firing the boss, lmao, absolute legend!]
[Hahaha, the Jade Emperor is gonna be furious.]
The Jade Emperor was indeed enraged.
Bestowing an official post upon you, and what do you do? You strike, abandon your post, and declare yourself the Great Sage Equal to Heaven!
The Jade Emperor resolved to mobilize an army to capture Sun Wukong.
In the cutscene, Heaven’s deployment was exceptionally grand.
Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King Li Jing, accompanied by Third Prince Nezha, along with legions of commanders and hundreds of thousands of heavenly soldiers and generals, rode through the mists and clouds, advancing all the way from the Nine Heavens down toward Huaguo Mountain.
Mengtu: “They’re here, they’re here! The forces of Heaven have arrived; our Monkey Bro is in danger.”
The background music instantly turned blood-pumping.
Looks like another boss fight was imminent!
The first boss to step forward was called the “Giant Spirit God,” wielding a massive axe.
The boss’s skill mechanics weren’t difficult; as long as the player moved quickly to dodge the axe chops and countered whenever an opening arose, a single blow from Sun Wukong’s staff dealt over 10,000 in critical damage, burning him down in no time.
The combat pacing felt immensely satisfying, completely clowning on the boss. Once defeated, Sun Wukong hopped onto a branch and taunted with a hearty laugh, “Coward! Old Sun will spare you for today—hurry back and report!”
Battered and covered in dirt, the Giant Spirit God scrambled back to report that this demon monkey was too fierce to overcome.
Third Prince Nezha stepped forward, volunteering for battle.
Laying eyes upon him, Sun Wukong couldn’t resist mocking, “Hahaha! What a cute little tot has arrived! Your baby teeth haven’t even fallen out, and your downy hair hasn’t dried; Old Sun won’t hit you—I’ll spare your life first!”
Flaring with rage, Nezha cursed, “What great skill could an unruly demon monkey like you possibly possess, daring to style yourself the Great Sage Equal to Heaven? Taste my sword!” With that, he shook his frame and manifested three heads and six arms.
In his three-headed, six-armed form, Nezha wielded the Demon-Slaying Sword in one pair of hands, held the Red Armillary Sash in another, and trod upon the Wind-Fire Wheels, cutting an extraordinarily formidable figure. Recognizing that this child was not to be taken lightly, Sun Wukong shouted: “Transform!”
Instantly, he conjured three clones of himself.
Mengtu gasped in shock: “Holy crap, do we have to control three Sun Wukongs to fight Nezha? That sounds pretty tough!”
Fighting Nezha in this stage was indeed quite difficult.
With three heads and six arms, Nezha unleashed a barrage of skills—stabbing with his sword one moment and binding with the Red Armillary Sash the next. The player had to juggle between three Sun Wukongs rapidly, practically dividing their attention across three minds at once.
The viewers watching the stream grew tense in anticipation:
[This kid split himself on the spot; three heads and six arms is pretty insane!]
[Splitting on the spot, lmao.]
[So what if he splits? Our Monkey Bro can duplicate on the spot!]
[This stage isn’t an easy clear.]
[I tried it this noon; Challenge mode Nezha is brutally hard.]
[Hang in there, Rabbit Sister!]
In this stage, because Sun Wukong had cloned three versions of himself, the player was in a frantic scramble trying to control three avatars at once, leaving zero breathing room to utilize the “Seventy-Two Transformations” ability.
Mengtu swapped between the three Sun Wukongs constantly; a single lapse in focus resulted in taking hits.
After retrying several times, she deciphered the attack pattern and noted, “Nezha’s three heads and six arms don’t release skills simultaneously. We just need to pay attention to which face is casting an ability, switch to that specific Sun Wukong to dodge, and the other two will attack him automatically!”
Once she recognized this mechanic, clearing the fight became vastly more manageable.
The boss encounter lasted over ten minutes; upon Nezha’s health dropping to 10%, it automatically transitioned into a cinematic.
In the animation, Sun Wukong suddenly plucked a golden hair and shouted “Transform!” The hair transformed into an identical replica standing before Nezha to draw his attention, while his true body seized the opening to leap high into the air above Nezha’s head, bringing his staff crashing down—
With a dull thud, Nezha took a direct blow to the head, reverting to his original form from the acute pain before dashing back to Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King Li Jing’s side.
Seeing that even Nezha was bested by Sun Wukong, Li Jing hastily ordered a full retreat.
Mengtu laughed, “They retreated! Those guys from Heaven can’t beat my Monkey Bro.”
The chat was buzzing with excitement:
[Great Sage 666!]
[Jade Emperor nursing a migraine: What on earth do we do now?]
[Sun Wukong: Is that it?]
[If this is all the strength Heaven has, Old Sun might as well start his own enterprise!]
After Li Jing returned to the Heavenly Palace to report, the Jade Emperor fell into deep distress. Taibai Jinxing offered another suggestion: since he wished to be the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, why not invite him back to the Heavenly Court and bestow that very title upon him? After all, the title was merely honorary without any real authority.
[This Taibai Jinxing is such a peacemaker!]
[Can’t beat him? Just give him another job, making him an executive this time!]
[An executive without real power—Heaven is full of scammers!]
[I have a feeling Monkey Bro definitely won’t last long in Heaven.]
The players’ predictions were spot on.
Heaven sent envoys to make peace with Sun Wukong, offering to formally confer the title of Great Sage Equal to Heaven upon him. Unaware of their underlying motives, Sun Wukong went up to Heaven in high spirits to assume his post. This “Great Sage Equal to Heaven” was a sinecure, so bored out of his mind, Sun Wukong spent every day roaming across the Heavenly Realm, making numerous friends along the way.
The system quest updated as well, allowing the player to tour the Heavenly Realm at leisure and meet various NPCs.
Mengtu took plenty of gorgeous scenery screenshots; to be fair, the environmental modeling of the Heavenly Realm was stunning!
After some time, certain heavenly officials could no longer stomach his idleness, believing that leaving him with too much free time would invite trouble, and urged the Jade Emperor to find him some work to do.
The Jade Emperor assigned Sun Wukong to oversee the Peach Orchard.
[Hahaha, letting a monkey guard a peach orchard, what were they thinking?!]
[I can’t even—how is this any different from asking a cat to guard a fishbowl?]
[Peaches are so delicious, how could our Monkey Bro resist?]
[Even I couldn’t resist!]
The stream viewers simply couldn’t wrap their heads around the Jade Emperor’s decision.
Putting a monkey in charge of a peach orchard—are you out of your mind?
[Stage 7: Peach Banquet]
Seeing this line appear on screen, Mengtu felt a surge of excitement mingled with deep reluctance, remarking, “Stage 7 already? According to the profile, Chapter One only has seven stages, right? I haven’t had enough yet!”
Many viewers in the chat felt the same way. Everyone had been thoroughly enthralled by Sun Wukong’s tale, yearning to see what unfolded next.
The gameplay across the first six stages had been delightful. What would the seventh stage bring? Everyone waited with keen anticipation.
The stage opened with an animated cutscene.
Inside the Peach Orchard, Sun Wukong discovered that the peaches here were gigantic and fragrant, making his mouth water uncontrollably. Monkeys naturally loved peaches, and he had never laid eyes on peaches this massive before.
Several minor deities guarding the orchard cautioned him, stating this was the Peach Orchard of the Queen Mother of the West and that these peaches were reserved exclusively for the Grand Peach Banquet—no stealing was permitted. Agreeing on the surface, Sun Wukong rolled his eyes slyly, made an excuse claiming he needed to sleep, and feigned dozing off to chase them away.
Once they departed, he sat bolt upright, vaulted into the canopy, and began feasting on the peaches.
[System: Objective updated — [Devour all the ripe, large peaches in the Peach Orchard]]
[System: The Seven Fairies are arriving soon to harvest the peaches; please take care not to be spotted]
Mengtu: “Holy crap, this stage is all about eating peaches!”
Across the sprawling Peach Orchard, clusters of enormous peaches glowed with a gentle luster.
Players needed to swiftly pluck and consume these peaches, utilizing climbing and leaping mechanics to scramble up trunks, or soaring straight onto the branches with the Somersault Cloud mobility skill.
Easy mode only required eating peaches.
In Challenge mode, Sun Wukong was afflicted by an environmental debuff that continuously drained his health; only eating peaches restored HP, and failing to consume a peach within five seconds reduced his health bar to zero, forcing a restart.
Simultaneously, the Seven Fairies patrolled the orchard as NPCs, requiring players to evade their sight while gorging on peaches without getting detected!
Having barely eaten two peaches, Mengtu was spotted by the Seven Fairies and had to restart.
At times, the distance between trees was vast and the mobility skill was on cooldown; failing to reach a peach within five seconds resulted in bleeding out just the same.
After several failed runs, Mengtu admitted helplessly, “This peach-eating stage is surprisingly tough; we need to optimize our route! Let me run a few tests and map out the Seven Fairies’ patrol routes. Where trees are sparse, we should fly across with mobility skills, and leave the dense clusters of peaches for later.”
The audience watched the streamer play with rapt fascination.
The level design around eating peaches was genuinely engaging and fun!
Under the streamer’s control, Sun Wukong climbed, leaped, and flew on clouds at high speed, weaving nimbly through the trees to dodge the Seven Fairies’ patrol while rapidly devouring peaches.
The screen tallied the number of peaches consumed by Sun Wukong:
One, five, ten…
This monkey actually devoured every single ripe, large peach in the entire orchard!
[Monkey Bro ate all the peaches—now he’s in deep trouble.]
[Leaving a monkey to watch a peach orchard—the leadership responsible for that decision shares the blame, right?]
[Exactly, what was the Jade Emperor thinking?]
Regardless of what the Jade Emperor was thinking, everyone knew Sun Wukong had landed himself in hot water once again.
The Seven Fairies arrived at the Peach Orchard for a closer look—where were all the big, round peaches? Why were they all gone?
They had no choice but to pick smaller, unripe peaches. As one of the fairies reached for a peach, a leaf broke free, and Sun Wukong—who had shrunk his body to sleep on that very leaf—fell right along with it.
Sun Wukong raised his golden staff, ready to strike, but the Seven Fairies hurriedly explained that they were sent by the Queen Mother of the West to harvest peaches for the Grand Peach Banquet, to which many immortals had been invited.
Sun Wukong asked, “Was I invited?”
The Seven Fairies answered honestly, “We did not hear of an invitation for the Great Sage.”
Furious, Sun Wukong incanted an immobilization spell to freeze the Seven Fairies on the spot and dashed off to the banquet himself. En route, crossing paths with numerous deities heading to the festivities, Sun Wukong lied: “The Jade Emperor sent Old Sun to pass word that you are all to proceed to the Tongming Palace and wait there first!”
The immortals were completely duped by his trick.
Sun Wukong slipped into the banquet grounds alone; the feast was laden with delicious delicacies, and after gorging himself and drinking to intoxication, he wandered dizzily through the Nine Heavens until he stumbled upon the Tusita Palace.
This was the sanctuary where Taishang Laojun refined immortal elixirs. Spotting five gourds beside the alchemy furnace filled with wondrous pills, Sun Wukong wasted no words—he grabbed them and gulped them down, emptying every last one in a single breath.
[System: Consumed [Immortal Elixirs refined by Taishang Laojun], Attack +2,000, Defense +2,000]
Mengtu: “My Monkey Bro snacked recklessly, and now his combat stats are even higher!”
Having devoured the pills, Sun Wukong sobered up and realized he had caused immense trouble, hastily greasing his soles and slipping back down to Huaguo Mountain. Meanwhile, the Hall of Miraculous Mist in Heaven had devolved into utter chaos.
First came the Queen Mother of the West to file a complaint with the Jade Emperor, reporting that Sun Wukong had eaten all the peaches and ruined the Grand Peach Banquet. Immediately afterward arrived Taishang Laojun, lamenting that all the elixir pills he had painstakingly refined were gone!
Then came a procession of deities lodging complaints, stating that Sun Wukong had fabricated imperial decrees, leaving them waiting in the Tongming Palace for ages.
The Jade Emperor: “…………”
[Hahaha, with a subordinate like this, the big boss is gonna lose his mind!]
[Jade Emperor: Currently having a breakdown.]
[Monkey Bro is way too naughty: upended the Dragon Palace, wrecked the Ghost Realm, and now thrown Heaven into chaos!]
[He’s a monkey after all; how would he understand human etiquette and rules?]
Although Sun Wukong caused endless trouble and made mischief wherever he went…
Miraculously, players found themselves liking him more and more!
This monkey was completely unconstrained, wild and free, doing whatever he pleased while fearing neither Heaven nor Earth. Whoever came to arrest him, he simply pummeled!
He was entirely different from the traditional heroic saviors found in standard animated series.
Playful, rebellious… and brimming with distinct personality!
Naturally, Heaven would not swallow this humiliation quietly; the Jade Emperor dispatched troops to capture Sun Wukong once again.
The forces deployed this time were far larger, with an even more formidable lineup.
Clearly, this was going to be a multi-phase boss gauntlet!
The first to take the field were the Nine Luminaries. Nine mini-bosses bombarded the arena with celestial spells from the heavens, requiring the player to maneuver Sun Wukong swiftly to evade their abilities; after enduring the assault for a period, a phase cinematic triggered, allowing him to unleash his ultimate to drive them back.
The second encounter was a team boss fight: the Four Heavenly Kings.
Holding a pipa to cast wide-area magical soundwave attacks was Dhṛtarāṣṭra, the Heavenly King of the East; his sonic blasts halved the player’s attack power and reduced their defense to zero upon impact.
Wielding a greatsword was Virūḍhaka, the Heavenly King of the South, whose single-target burst was devastating; his giant sword plunged from the heavens, capable of lopping off half the player’s health in a single strike!
With a dragon coiled around his arm was Virūpākṣa, the Heavenly King of the West, who unleashed the dragon to pursue the player automatically; a single bite inflicted paralysis, rooting the player in place for one second.
And holding a jeweled umbrella was Vaiśravaṇa, the Heavenly King of the North, whose umbrella formed an impervious barrier that negated all incoming damage when opened, only to resume attacking when folded.
1v4!
This stage was exceptionally punishing.
Four bosses cycled through abilities continuously; the slightest mistake meant death and restarting.
Dying several times in succession, Mengtu pleaded helplessly with her chat, “Has anyone beaten this stage? Family, save me! I’m not the Great Sage, I’m just a trash monkey!”
[Someone beat it on Normal mode; kill Dhṛtarāṣṭra first!]
[His pipa is annoying as hell, constantly stripping your stats.]
[A top player on the forums posted a guide: kill the pipa first, then the dragon, then the sword, and finish the umbrella guy last.]
Mengtu perked up, “Alright, let me try again!”
The coordinated boss battle against the Four Heavenly Kings was intricately designed, requiring tactical prioritization on kill order. Moreover, dodging the abilities of four bosses simultaneously was blisteringly difficult.
True to Challenge mode, the streamers were once again being tortured to death.
Mengtu spent a full hour, dying countless times, before finally toppling the Four Heavenly Kings.
Just as she breathed a sigh of relief, Heaven initiated another cutscene. Guanyin Bodhisattva of the South Sea arrived at the Heavenly Court to offer aid, dispatching her disciple to capture Sun Wukong alive.
Boss Battle Phase 3: Sun Wukong vs. Muzha!
[This disciple of Guanyin seems pretty cracked too!]
[He said he’s the second son of Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King Li Jing, Nezha’s older brother?]
[Is this an endurance gauntlet? Another boss incoming!]
Muzha wielded iron staves in both hands, boasting colossal attack power.
This stage was almost entirely close-quarters brawling, demanding top-tier mechanical precision.
Players had to constantly parry, dodge, and counterattack…
By the time Mengtu finally defeated Muzha, she was utterly exhausted.
Assuming that was the end of it, another cutscene rolled for Heaven.
Mengtu: “Holy crap, do these Heavenly Court folks ever quit?!”
[Monkey Bro has repelled three waves already, and they still dare to come?]
[Guanyin recommended someone; from the description, he sounds ridiculously strong.]
[Erlang Shen? The Jade Emperor’s own nephew?]
[666, even the nephew is being pulled in!]
[Calling in family members—looks like Heaven is officially out of moves!]
[This nephew seems seriously overpowered.]
[Monkey Bro in danger!]
Boss Gauntlet Phase 4: Sun Wukong vs. Erlang Shen · Yang Jian.
By now, the time had quietly ticked past 10:00 PM on Sunday night.
Having played continuously for over a dozen hours, Mengtu didn’t feel bored in the slightest; on the contrary, the more she fought, the more energized she became. Since this was already the seventh stage, she was determined to beat the game tonight before going to bed!
