JOH CH111: Lucky Star
At that moment, the hospital room door creaked open. Su Yiran had just stepped out to handle some paperwork and discuss Gu Yuanting’s condition with the doctor. Now he had just returned.
Worried about when Ting-ge would finally wake up, Su Yiran was surprised and overjoyed to see him already sitting up in bed, awake. He hurried over excitedly, “Ting-ge! You’re awake!”
Gu Yuanting, relieved to see Yiran unharmed, first exhaled deeply. Then, thinking back over everything that had happened recently, his expression shifted through a complex array of emotions. He nodded stiffly, “Mm, mm, I—I just woke up.”
Su Yiran, filled with joy, took Ting-ge’s hand and gently touched his face. “How do you feel? Does your head still hurt? Do you feel dizzy?”
Gu Yuanting couldn’t help but stammer, “N-no pain anymore, a-and not dizzy either.”
“Sit back against the pillow first.” Still uneasy, Su Yiran helped Ting-ge lean against the pillows, then quickly pressed the call button for the nurse.
Obediently half-lying, half-sitting, Gu Yuanting cautiously glanced at Yiran. Seeing him acting completely normal, as if he hadn’t noticed anything, he silently breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, Yiran didn’t know he was a fool.
“You pulled out the IV yourself?” After pressing the call button, Su Yiran noticed something was off. He quickly checked Gu Yuanting’s arm and saw a bead of blood forming at the needle site. It was obvious the IV was removed improperly and hadn’t been treated immediately.
Fortunately, the blood had already clotted and it wasn’t serious. On the nearby table were cotton swabs and medical tape. Su Yiran carefully cleaned the blood and applied the tape. “Why didn’t you wait? You just pulled it out yourself.”
“I-I accidentally pulled it out,” Gu Yuanting stammered, still unable to explain clearly. He worried that sounding like this made him look foolish, so he quickly shut his mouth tight.
Now he had fully recovered—he was truly himself again, not stupid.
Su Yiran gave Ting-ge a puzzled look. He saw Ting-ge sitting stiffly, sneaking glances at him like a startled spring that would jump away at any moment once their eyes met.
Su Yiran: “…”
At first, Su Yiran was overwhelmed by the joy of Ting-ge waking. He hadn’t noticed Ting-ge acting strange. Now that he looked closely, it all made sense.
“Ting-ge, have you… regained your memory?”
Gu Yuanting: “…”
He froze completely. Su Yiran watched, feeling as if Ting-ge was slowly, inch by inch, turning into a stone statue.
Sigh, silly Ting-ge.
Unable to resist, Su Yiran reached out to ruffle Ting-ge’s hair and leaned in to give him a strong kiss. “Good that you’re back. After the brain scan, we’ll visit Dr. Sun again.”
Gu Yuanting thawed from his “stone state” at Yiran’s affection. He couldn’t help but hug Yiran tightly and kissed him back. “Okay.” Yiran didn’t reject or blame him. He wasn’t scared anymore.
Without blinking, Gu Yuanting looked at Yiran. After the initial brain fog passed, holding Yiran gave him a real sense of reality. Happiness bubbles started rising uncontrollably in his heart, bubbling up quickly and overflowing.
Joy, happiness, excitement, emotion, gratitude, almost tears.
Yiran was his! From start to finish, they loved each other. From start to finish, Yiran’s love was only for him.
The imagined “original owner” didn’t exist. Actually, twenty years ago, he had been reborn, back to childhood—the moment when, as a beggar in the organization, his leg had just been broken. Then… he met the current Yiran, and his fate changed completely.
The one who had grown up, fallen in love, and married Yiran was himself.
Only last year, for some reason, he suddenly lost his memories, remembering only his previous life but forgetting everything since rebirth. He even thought he had just been reborn.
In truth, he and Yiran were very happy. There was no one else between them. He wouldn’t die; they wouldn’t be separated by life and death.
In the future, they would live happily together forever.
Fate had been so kind to him.
He was incredibly lucky—he must be a lucky star!
Gu Yuanting’s eyes sparkled as he looked at Su Yiran, kissing him several times in excitement. He couldn’t contain the surge of emotion. “Yiran, I’m a lucky star.”
Su Yiran, who had been worried about Ting-ge’s memory loss not being fully healed, was finally relieved to see his behavior. He laughed and kissed him back. “No, you’re an idiot.”
Gu Yuanting: “…”
Damn, here we go again.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Su Yiran knew the doctor had arrived and quickly parted from Ting-ge, “Come in.”
The doctor and nurse came in and gave Gu Yuanting a thorough examination. The results showed that although the wound on the back of his head hadn’t fully healed, it wasn’t serious. After two more days of hospital observation, he could be discharged.
