JOH CH126: Extra
Some time had passed since Gu Yuanting regained his memory.
The two husbands lived sweet, cozy days together. After all they had been through, their relationship felt deeply intertwined, inseparable, and their love grew even stronger.
One day, as the New Year approached, the streets were decorated with bright lanterns and festive colors. Su Yiran and Gu Yuanting held hands shopping at the mall. They had many things to buy, including new toys for their baby.
Passing by a shop window, Su Yiran’s eyes brightened, his gaze involuntarily following something.
Gu Yuanting looked where Su Yiran was looking and saw a men’s heavy-metal style leather jacket on display. He was momentarily surprised — did Ranran suddenly like this style?
“Do you like this?” Without hesitation, he grabbed Ranran’s hand and started to walk toward the store.
Su Yiran stopped him quickly, pulling him back: “No, no, I was looking at a cat. Such a cute one.”
A cat? Gu Yuanting looked inside the store and indeed saw a fluffy white munchkin cat.
Su Yiran wasn’t paying much attention — he just found it cute and wanted to take a second look. Whether they had a cat or not didn’t matter much to him; he didn’t have a strong desire to get one.
“Let’s go, let’s look around some more up ahead.” Su Yiran led Gu Yuanting forward through the mall.
He knew well that Gu Yuanting — cough, “Ting-ge” — would get jealous over cats.
But Gu Yuanting still glanced back at the cat, thoughtful.
.
After finishing at the mall, they ate dinner outside and went home, carrying a large haul — food, daily necessities, clothes, and toys for their baby. But they only brought a few things with them; the rest would be delivered.
The baby just woke up and saw his two dads returning. He reached out adorably, babbling to be picked up. Su Yiran quickly took the baby from the nanny’s arms and kissed his little face affectionately. Gu Yuanting hurriedly took out the new toys and started playing with the baby.
The two dads played with the baby for a while until he got tired and fell asleep sweetly. They each kissed the baby before quietly slipping away.
Back in the bedroom that night, the two of them shared a tender moment. Gu Yuanting held Ranran after a shower, turned off the lights, and they lay together in the soft bed.
Su Yiran felt his body limp from earlier exertions. Now in Gu Yuanting’s arms, a sleepy drowsiness washed over him. Just as he was about to fall asleep, Gu Yuanting called softly, “Ranran…”
“Hm?” Su Yiran murmured drowsily.
Hearing Ranran’s sleepy voice in his arms, Gu Yuanting knew he was about to fall asleep. He bent down and gently kissed his forehead: “It’s okay, sleep well.”
We’ll talk tomorrow.
Su Yiran heard only part of that sentence, but it piqued his curiosity and made him more awake. He raised his head and looked at him: “What is it?”
Seeing that Ranran was now awake because of him, Gu Yuanting was helpless and didn’t tease him but said directly what he had decided: “Let’s… get a cat?”
Huh? Su Yiran was now fully awake. He reached out to touch Gu Yuanting’s forehead: “Are you okay?”
Gu Yuanting held his hand, kissed it softly: “I’m serious.”
Seeing that Gu Yuanting was truly serious about getting a cat, Su Yiran imagined the beautiful scene of their home with their baby and a cat. His eyes curved into a smile. At the same time, he was curious: “Why? Why suddenly want a cat?”
Gu Yuanting saw Ranran’s happiness and couldn’t help but feel happy too. Getting a cat was definitely the right choice.
Yet deep in his heart, there was a bit of sourness — Ranran really liked cats.
“Because you like cats.” Gu Yuanting held Ranran and answered. Saying that Ranran liked cats made him silently jealous.
But he didn’t change his mind, and he didn’t give up on getting a cat just because he was jealous.
Ranran had already given him so much security. Clearly, having a cat would make Ranran even happier. How could he give that up just because of jealousy?
Ranran, him, the baby, and now a cat — their little family would be even happier.
Gu Yuanting felt more determined. He had to adjust his obsessive mindset and work hard to improve.
He quickly said: “I like you.”
After speaking, he felt it was not enough, so he continued confessing: “I love you.”
Su Yiran almost immediately understood Gu Yuanting’s feelings. His face flushed deeply and his heart raced.
This wasn’t just about getting a cat — it was about Gu Yuanting, such a person, willing to give up his stubbornness for him, showing sincere love.
From the beginning when he tried every way to drive away the little cat, now he was the one suggesting to get one.
Gu Yuanting had really changed a lot for him.
Su Yiran’s heart melted. His eyes sparkled like they were full of stars as he hugged Gu Yuanting and kissed him, overwhelmed with emotion, joy, and love: “I love you so much.”
Feeling Ranran’s active kiss, Gu Yuanting sensed his happiness and love as if their hearts were connected. His chest burned with heat and desire.
Because of Ranran, he had walked out of the darkness. Because of Ranran, he gradually found more security.
Moved beyond words, he deeply kissed him back.
He wanted to make him happy, even happier.
…
You like cats, I like you.
A crystal-clear heart.
This was his most passionate confession to him.
