    Chapter Index

Gu Yuanting sat dumbfounded for a long time, his heart pounding wildly. He stared blankly at the surveillance screen. The grid connected to the watch’s camera had already gone black—it was obviously covered by Ranran—but Gu Yuanting couldn’t hide his bubbling joy.

At first, he thought Ranran was just looking at the time on the watch’s camera for a long while. Then he thought maybe Ranran had noticed something and was nervous. But what surprised him most was when he saw Ranran smile at the camera, his eyes curved happily, a shallow dimple showing on his right cheek. Ranran even waved his finger at the camera, as if greeting him.

Every time, he thought he already loved Ranran deeply, had been touched to the extreme—but the next moment, Ranran could make him fall even harder.

It turned out Ranran knew he was watching him through the surveillance. Not only did he not blame him, but he smiled so sweetly, so forgivingly.

Gu Yuanting’s heart fluttered and he was stupefied for a while. Quickly, he switched to another camera feed and saw Ranran seriously discussing work with a staff member. Seeing Ranran focused and hardworking made him even more captivated.

He gazed at Ranran for a long time and only gradually calmed down.

His thoughts then turned to the watch’s surveillance system. That watch was the new one he had gifted Ranran during his amnesia period. After finding out it contained a tracking surveillance system, Ranran hadn’t thrown it away or taken it off like Gu Yuanting had worried. Instead, he kept wearing it.

Even during Gu Yuanting’s amnesia, all the things he had hidden before—threats to classmates, his obsessive controlling behavior toward Ranran—were all discovered by Ranran, yet Ranran didn’t blame him much.

At most, he only asked Gu Yuanting to apologize to the classmates.

This was completely different from what Gu Yuanting had been so worried about—that Ranran would hate him and leave him.

Ranran loved him even more than he had imagined.

Gu Yuanting’s heart felt both sour and soft. He recalled how, during his amnesia, he had thought he was covering for the “original owner” (his previous self), cursing himself wildly every day and struggling with himself like crazy.

He thought of all the times he called himself crazy, obsessive, a lunatic—and his face turned green, then purple, then bluish, all kinds of colors, very colorful.

    What an idiot.

He needed to hurry up and finish work, get off early, and go home to see Ranran.

Meanwhile, Su Yiran continued discussing the new season’s special desserts with Zhang Xiaohong.

From last spring until now, Su Yiran had been busy with the baby’s birth and Gu Yuanting’s illness, so he hadn’t focused on developing the shop. He realized the dessert shop hadn’t launched a new signature series for a long time.

Though the existing soy milk boxes, dirty buns, double-layer ice cream cheesecakes, and so forth were popular, the shop needed to launch new products periodically to attract new customers and surprise loyal ones with fresh flavors.

This time, Su Yiran planned to launch a matcha series, with the “Matcha Swiss Roll” as the main item, and “Matcha Mochi Wheel Cakes” and “Matcha Snowy Mooncakes” as secondary items.

The Matcha Swiss Roll had also been a viral hit in the previous life, dazzling everyone online. The dessert’s towel-like appearance was eye-catching: the thin cake skin was slightly chewy, the cream filling sweet and smooth, and the surface’s matcha powder looked like the towel’s fluffy texture. One bite released a rich cheese and matcha flavor spreading across the palate—fresh and delicious.

The Swiss rolls wouldn’t just be matcha-flavored; chocolate and original flavors would also be launched together.

Su Yiran introduced these new products to Zhang Xiaohong and talked about promotion and shop events. Smiling, he said, “After we launch this new seasonal dessert series, the follow-up marketing will be yours.”

Zhang Xiaohong was both surprised and impressed, and promptly replied, “Got it, boss! You can count on me!”

Afterwards, Su Yiran taught Zhang Xiaohong the new dessert recipes again. When Zhang Xiaohong had basically mastered them and the shop was running smoothly upstairs and downstairs with no other issues, Su Yiran left the shop.

At home, Su Yiran first checked on the baby as usual. The baby could now crawl, sit, and even stand up holding on to things. They had set up a special play area in the living room for the baby.

Su Yiran smiled and played with the baby, teasing him to walk by holding the wall. He opened his arms and said, “Come here, baby, come to daddy.”

The baby, still confused, tilted his head, took a wobbly step toward Su Yiran while holding the wall, then suddenly fell on his bottom, sitting there with a puzzled expression as if he didn’t understand why he fell.

Su Yiran couldn’t help laughing, quickly scooped up the bewildered baby, and kissed him twice. So cute!

Until dinner time, the nanny had prepared the meal, but Su Yiran was still happily playing games with the baby. Seeing the baby getting tired and sleepy, he finally held him in his arms to lull him to sleep.

When Gu Yuanting came home, he saw this scene. His heart warmed, and he walked quickly over to hug Su Yiran, kissing him and the baby one by one. After a whole day of missing them, he finally felt fulfilled. “I’m home.”

“Mm,” Su Yiran’s attention was still on the baby. He shushed softly, signaling Gu Yuanting to keep quiet. “The baby just fell asleep. Don’t disturb him.”

    Gu Yuanting: “…”

“Shall we take the baby to the room to sleep?” Gu Yuanting whispered.

Su Yiran nodded. Gu Yuanting carefully took the baby from him, carried him upstairs to the nursery, gently laid him in the crib, and left the nanny to watch over him.

During dinner, Su Yiran noticed that after Gu Yuanting came home, his gaze toward him seemed much warmer, and it looked like he wanted to say something but hesitated.

    “What’s up?”

Su Yiran was puzzled. After eating a shrimp peeled by Gu Yuanting, he asked directly, “Ting-ge, what’s on your mind? Why do you seem like you want to say something but can’t?”

Gu Yuanting was filled with sweetness and happiness. He looked at Su Yiran with much to say but finally condensed all into one sentence: “I love you.”

“…” Su Yiran saw the little stars sparkling in Gu Yuanting’s eyes. He was caught off guard by the sudden confession and blushed, hurriedly avoiding his gaze. “Wh-why say that all of a sudden?”

He thought something was wrong, but it was just a sudden confession, leaving him completely defenseless.

That night, both of them felt happy in their hearts. After finishing, they cuddled sweetly under the covers. Gu Yuanting kissed Su Yiran for a long time, his heart pounding hard as he asked a question that had lingered for a long time:

“Ranran, you… you knew I was watching you through the surveillance…”

“Mm…” Su Yiran was dazed from Gu Yuanting’s kisses, only after a while did he respond, recalling what happened earlier that day, naturally nodding, “Yeah, I knew.”

Gu Yuanting’s heart burned with heat from that “I knew.” His body also reacted strongly and warmly.

    Su Yiran: “…”

Gu Yuanting couldn’t resist kissing Su Yiran a few more times, holding back other urges for now. He said, “If you don’t like it, I won’t do that anymore.” He still felt a little guilty, knowing his behavior wasn’t normal, so he promised first.

Su Yiran looked at him skeptically. “You’re lying.”

Gu Yuanting: “…” Yes, he definitely couldn’t help secretly using the surveillance.

Seeing Gu Yuanting fall silent, Su Yiran understood he was right: “…”

    I knew it…

Gu Yuanting kissed Su Yiran again and carefully asked, “So… would you dislike it?”

“Not really.” Su Yiran let that go lightly. Sometimes, he even found it quite cute, a little private intimacy between him and Gu Yuanting. Smiling, he kissed Gu Yuanting, “Kind of adorable.”

He used to be a straight-laced guy, but now Gu Yuanting was really spoiling him…

“!!” Hearing Ranran’s words, Gu Yuanting couldn’t control himself anymore…

He must have been blessed for several lifetimes to have Ranran.

    He loved him so much.

    —

Ting-ge’s love was a bit overwhelming for Su Yiran to handle…

The next morning, Su Yiran’s waist was sore, legs weak, and he lay on the bed asking Ting-ge to massage his waist while accusing him, “I told you not to do this…”

It was Saturday, and both were at home resting. Gu Yuanting busied himself attending to Ranran’s waist and legs. While massaging, he got distracted, and Su Yiran noticed. Blushing, Gu Yuanting didn’t know whether to be angry or shy and slapped away his hands, “That’s enough.”

    Completely unacceptable.
